Savy's Chic Bridal — Local services in Sterling

I was very excited to go to Savy’s since it is close to my hometown, and I had heard great things about it.

My consultant was okay in picking dresses but I feel did not choose anything outside of what I originally had told her. I didn’t have many criteria to follow when coming in since it was my first time trying on dresses and I didn’t have a thought growing up of “this is what my wedding is going to look like”. But, I did start to make it known my bust was an area of concern, my stomach and back. Those were all key points that continued to be showed off in whatever dress I tried on.

I did not say yes to my dress on the first day, I chose to come back with a smaller party. When I did come back to try on my number one dress I had my original consultant and looking back at photos she did not button my dress up at all; only zipped it. Therefore when I saw myself in the dress it looked great since it was so loose. With that I didn’t have the full effect of how it would feel or look, even though it could have been closed up more than it was. She then took my measurements and suggested the sizes for myself. I went based off of her suggestions. I picked up my dress 4 months later with a different consultant, it barely fit. She could not pull the dress down nor did she adjust straps or bust area or anything just sent me on my way after payment, even though I was very unhappy and uncomfortable trying the dress on.

I have had my measurements taken since then and there was a 9 inch different in the original measurements and my new measurements. I still wear the same jeans, and same clothes as I did at that appointment. They fit no different. Somewhere along the way there was a mix up or miscommunication. I had such an AMAZING experience here! Diana was my consultant and words CANNOT describe how WONDERFUL she was! She asked me questions to better understand my wedding and what I was looking for in a dress. I was looking for something different and not your normal or typical wedding dress. I was one of those girls, who never envisioned her wedding dress. I am a Midwest girl who loves to eat and wanted a dress that I felt comfortable and beautiful in. I did have a short time frame to find a dress but Diana reassured me with my date that we could find a dress for me. (Other places I visited made me feel pressured to purchase and I was told time was running out. I wasn’t going to purchase something I didn’t love.)

After we got to know one another, I started to pick some dresses I thought I would like, all A-line type dresses. When trying them on, we discussed what I liked and disliked about each dress. After Diana got a feel for what I was looking for, she asked if I would try something she recommended. She recommended a dress that was a fit to flair. I told Diana I’m not skinny and don’t think this dress would look flattering on me. Diana reassured me and told me every bride deserves to look beautiful and to be in whatever type of dress makes them feel that way. With Diana’s reassurances I decided to try it on. I purchased my wedding dress from Savvy Chic. The dress was absolutely perfect for me, gorgeous and everyone told me at my wedding that it was definitely made for me! But the dress is not what I want to give the review on. The staff at Savvy Chic are incredible and super patient! I had gone to another wedding dress shop prior to them and will not give their name but long story short they played on my emotions and convinced me to get a dress I was 100% in love with and looking back at pictures was no flattering on me at all. I explained that to Savvy Chic and they were so patient and kind. They actually let me walk through the store to pick the dresses I wanted to try on as well as making suggestions of their own, but they did not rush me at all! At any point did they pressure or rush me. Even when I had it narrowed down to 2 dresses I loved and was having trouble deciding between. They had me try both on in different lightings, had me walk around to see which was more comfortable, sit test, etc! They really made the experience of shopping for my dress memorable made me feel special and those memories will stay with me forever! Definitely check them out even if you are not near Dixon.
