Over the Top — Local services in Stoneham

So for years I'd given up on finding a great barbershop, where I could get a great haircut as well. Locally at least, so I'd go to a friend, or wherever. And honestly the experience became a simple transaction. Make it quick, do X, Y, Z, and make sure it's even on both sides = We were good! I paid, tipped, and was done within 15-20 mins. In June it had been a bit since I got my haircut. Pandemic and all, but it was time. I saw Over The Top was open. I booked a time online and showed up. Wow! Talk about a complete 180 for me. The shop is lively, people are talking about 10 different things. There's group talk, and little side convos going on between barbers, patrons, hangers, whoever. Not to mention all barbers are professional, give you great cut, and a little extra even. For example today got a cut, then barber gave me a ear hair wax treatment. Worked great! Better than my at home trimmer which never gets them all. She didn't charge me for it. And I never even knew what was happening! Perfect! They took the initiative and just saw I had a straggler or two, and did it. That's Top notch customer service. Over The Top lives up to name! Rarely do you see or get service like this anymore (and I'm not old man)But here they treat you like gold. The minute you walk in they focus on you. Everyone greets you, they ask what you want. Ask about personal stuff, will chat it up with you while you wait. Or leave you alone if you need a minute to do something like make a call. Bottom line is this is by far the BEST barbershop in the North shore/Greater Boston area!! Hidden gem sorta, but right on Main St. Stoneham. Any of the barbers are great! You can't go wrong, they all approach they're work as if it's their passion their Art! That's who I want cutting my hair. Idk about you all, but if you want great cut, service, fun environment, experience, and stress free place you can chill and decompress almost! All at very very fair prices! That feeling when the universe aligns... (stay with me) I've been getting my haircut at Over the Top for years (before kids) the only thing preventing me from writing a review is the fact selfishly I did not want the word to get out and make it hard to get my own hair cut... Gotta admit it. I was wrong, not only has the word got out but the APP is amazing and makes getting a cut insanely convenient and efficient.

Back to the "universe aligns" comment now both my Son and I get our hair cut, the App makes booking super convenient and the shop is in our town... we get our hair cut on the same day and we get in and out fast... I moved from Everett and can remember worried about finding a good shop when we moved. Now both my Son and I would never go anywhere else.

The atmosphere & people... we've never walked out disappointed and have had several Barbers cut us and all do an amazing job. Again we've been going for years and last minute scenarios or vacations we've needed to schedule with multiple Barbers and again across the board amazing experiences...

One other call out has to be the owner Luke . An amazing person in the sense he is great with kids, treats everyone special and prioritizes your haircut and your time with respect and consideration. He has children of his own and has been cutting hair since middle school.... to see someone at that level in action is more than worth the trip. We always walk out looking and feeling better than we arrived.

Our family is grateful to have the crew from Over the Top as our friends...My Sister runs a Daycare for Dogs and raises money for Shelters. Luke donated to the cause and we will never forget Over the Top for doing so!

Rocco is hands down the most talented barber I've ever met. Unfortunately he is so tied down with appointments that you can never just walk in to see him. There are a handful of other guys in there doing great work as well. I recommend booking an appointment with Rocco Danieli through his preferred booking app. I think it's called Booksy.

The atmosphere is great, very positive. The music is bumping but never offensive (and if a song comes on that might push the line, they are quick to change it.)

The conversations heard throughout my visits have been overwhelmingly supportive and genuine.

These guys aren't just barbers. And this isn't just another barbershop.

At the end of your cut, they will clean all the loose hair off per usual but then they also get a heated wet towel to clean off all the stubborn loose hair off. Then they will gel your hair. This is very much appreciated because I usually have to go back to work after my appointment so it's great to deal with less small bits of hair poking me in the neck, etc.

Give these guys a chance, especially Rocco or Luke, and this will be the last time you research...
