This was my third time frequenting this barbershop. Mike Brinson, the barber and proprietor, makes each and every patron feel welcomed and appreciated. He is extremely meticulous and detailed. He is very proud of his profession which is exhibited in his expertise. It is imperative to Mike that each client leaves his shop pleased with the services he has provided. His barbershop is a throwback to the 1930’s era which is beautifully displayed with barber supplies, pictures, and furniture pieces. Period appropriate music plays in the background as you are waiting and being serviced. He only accepts walk-ins, but it is definitely worth the wait. Don’t deprive yourself of this unique experience!!!

I read the reviews for this establishment while looking for a new barber. Nothing but high praise in the reviews. After visiting, I can see why. He was an old school gentleman. Shook my hand both times I went in. The second time I was in there, he remembered me and the cut I got. On that note, I went in with a shaggy head of hair looking to get it cut short. He suggested a certain style, and it was the best. He knows what he's doing and engages with you while he's doing his thing. I went in looking like a bum and came out looking great! I won't go anywhere else from now on and I have to travel over state lines!

Mike is the best Barber around. Come in and let him win you over. It's first come, first serve so be prepared to wait on most days. The wait alone should tell you how good he is. There is a game room upstairs to use while waiting. The charm of the 1940s/50s decor will bring you back in time. Overall, it's a great experience with skillful service.

Amazing experience here. I was at velvet Mill for the farmers market and was not planning on getting a haircut, although I desperately needed one. I walked in just to check the place out and there was only one gentleman getting his haircut. So I figured, let’s do this.

I’m glad I did! Mike was awesome. I have been getting the same basic Supercuts haircut for years. I have tried going to fancy salons but it’s like 50 or $60 for a haircut and they never do a very good job.

Mike was very thorough and asked what I wanted, etc. he was super helpful and actually steered me in a completely different direction. I will admit, it was a little out of my comfort zone, but I completely trusted what he was recommending and he was really good with explaining what he thought I should do and why.

He is 1000% focused on you and very detail oriented. I got a fantastic haircut and could not be happier. The vibe of the place is great, he is completely professional, personable, detail oriented, and very skilled.

So glad I found him and cannot wait to go back! Please note that it is cash only. Luckily there was an ATM around the corner in the mill. I also ended up getting some beard balm and some pomade. The haircut and the products came to $45. Totally reasonable and worth every penny! He also gave me some samples of some shave gel and aftershave...

After reading these reviews, I don’t know what I can add that hasn’t already been preached time and time again. I’ve been coming to see Mike for close to a year now and he is nothing but professional. Stepping into his barber shop is a true blast from the past and brings back vivid memories of going with my grandpa to get his hair cut. With the Rat Pack or Big Band music always pumping through the radio, the smell of Clubman aftershave permeating the air, and all the unique memorabilia covering the walls you’ll wonder why you’ve been getting your cuts and hot shaves anywhere else. Mike gives each customer that walks through his door the time, attention, and respect unparalleled in todays fast paced world. He builds a personal connection with every person who is fortunate enough to grace his barber chair with their presence. If you have squirrelly kinds to entertain while you wait, he even offers a foosball/air hockey room upstairs! Mike has become my friend, brother, and my barber for life. No one provides the same lever of service or customer service and I know no...

I've been coming here for about a year now after going to great clips/super cuts for years prior to meeting Mike. I have a very hard head of hair to manage and until I started coming here I have never loved my haircut. The first time I sat in Mike's chair he made some recommendations and when he got done with the first cut I was amazed at how well my hair looked. Even my wife loved it and she always hated my haircut and I have never went anywhere else since starting to come here.

His atmosphere is always great with the "Big Band" sounds of Glenn Miller and other such artists. He also has a game room upstairs to help keep the kiddos entertained. My 12 year old also gets his haircuts here and has always received an awesome haircut.

Mike is a true professional and has become a great friend and brother. I highly recommend him...
