I normally don't leave negative reviews, but Everytime I look in the mirror or think about my recent haircut I got at this salon, it bothers me. I've gotten my haircut here before and it was fine. But this last time wasn't a good experience. The girl that cut my hair, should have double checked it thoroughly. My hidden layers are basically non existent. She definitely chopped off more than I wanted, probably because when I was in her chair she originally had my haircut uneven and when I mentioned it she kept having to cut more hair to even it out, And then she blamed the guy that sharpens her scissors; After she felt she fixed the length issue, she hurried to whip off my cape without me even getting to check it again to see if I was satisfied, she wanted me out of there. I remained calm and courteous the whole time. I won't mention the stylist here by name, I'm not trying to throw her under the bus to the public, but whoever is running this salon, please deal with her to check through her cuts properly and not hurry clients off to spare herself confrontation, embarrassment or whatever the reason may be. I would call this salon to have them make my cut right, but frankly, I'd be scared to see what else would happen to my hair if I returned. Gavin SS&S, please, look my name up in your records and deal with the beautician that did my cut. I wasted hard earned money by coming to your salon.
UPDATE: Annie, the salon owner contacted me via phone call and invited me to the salon so she could fix my haircut. My experience with her was fantastic and she really changed my mind on coming back to her salon! She was super welcoming and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and I left her chair with a great haircut, one of the best I've had! Thanks Annie, I appreciate you making the extra effort to satisfy your customers. Also, she respectively handled the situation with the stylist who did my original cut, which is good. Annie cares about her stylists and customers, so things...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really hate writing a complaint because so much of the staff is amazing (Anastasia is PHENOMENAL). However, I feel itās necessary to bring attention the nastiness I encountered at my last visit. I suffer from OCD, anxiety and Trichitillomania (hair pulling). I have struggled most of my young adult and adult life but a couple years ago, I grew my hair out enough, and stopped hair pulling. I contacted Anastasia who brought my spirits up and let me know I could get hair extensions which would help my hair recover. I was SO beyond happy. I made my appointment and when my hair was in place, I felt like myself again.
However, I still dealt with my issue from time to time while wearing the extensions and the hair showed some damage from some of my relapses. At the last visit (and after spending hundreds of dollars to come in for recare visits) I was in to get an estimate to get the hair replaced. Kristie (the woman at the front with short hair and always a nasty expression) on her face) came back to the hair station and took my hair pieces with her in the back room without saying a word to me. She looked so pissed off. Iām sitting in the chair, vulnerable and nervous, when she came out and stormed over to me and said āwhat did you do to this hair? Youāve ruined it.ā I fought so hard to not cry.
Obviously, she had no idea I suffer from this condition, but thatās not the point. She was judging a customer.
I miss this salon and Anastasia but I am not sure I will ever be able to go there again. Iāve told numerous people about her and they have had similar negative encounters with her. For someone who co-owns a business, and greets customers, I would suggest she have a better attitude and better ābed side manner.
And after they said they would reorder the hair extensions, which I would have to pay for, they put pieces in my hair without telling me I would have to pay for them, and then charged me $100 plus...
Ā Ā Ā Read more2 years later and Iām still living with the damage from this haircut and can not leave the house without heat styling my natural curly hair. Keep your curls away from here.
I got my hair done here in August 2023, Iāve debated writing this bad review but realized how much it has affected my self esteem and love for my hair⦠I wouldnāt wish this experience upon anyone.
I went in with long down to my ribs, 3A curly hair, asking for an ashy blonde color. I walked out with inches cut off and a really bad layers where only the most exterior part of my hair is chopped way shorter so I have 2 layers⦠when my hair is curly out of the shower and air dried it looks like an Afro⦠The dirty orange color that was left on my hair is another issue but at least I could dye it again and try to recover.
This stylist gave me a round Afro-style shape thatās typically used for tighter, 4A curl types ā not 3A curls like mine. It didnāt suit my hair type at all, and it destroyed the shape and length I had been growing out for years. To this day, my curls still donāt fall the same. My self-esteem took a major hit, and Iāve had to resort to using heat to try to style the harsh layers to fall naturally.
The color was just as disappointing. Instead of the blonde I asked for, she left me with a brassy, dirty orange. I even went back the next day because it just didnāt sit right with me. She tried to tone it again it took hours, and it slightly took the brightness off, however the orange undertone never fully went away.
Itās also frustrating that the salon doesnāt list any stylist profiles or specialties on their site. I had no way to vet who would be doing my hair, and that lack of transparency made it easy for someone clearly untrained in my curl type and color goals to do...
