Sunshine House ReSale Store — Local services in Sturgeon Bay

I was checking out and at first the lady was very nice. After a little bit another lady joined in. They were both checking me out and making friendly conversation. It wasn't until I turn around and start talking in a different language with my mother that I overhear one of them say "charge her $10" for context, I had asked one of the ladies if they would lower the price of an item to $6 originally was $10; they will usually accept offers. So as my mom is talking to me, I continue eavesdropping to make sure I heard that correctly. I turn around and look at the two women and one of them says nervously and still quietly "do i do that now?" And the other shushes her immediately saying "no no, don't" I was kind of taken aback and didn't say anything. After a moment she asked for my receipt and I said yes. The other woman started speaking saying something quietly and the one who handed me my receipt said "no it's okay, it's fine, nothing happened." So basically she tried telling the other lady to put it as $10 and charge me more after she said $6. Anyways, I told my mom to make sure she didn't over price anything. Surprise they did the same to her. My mother brought a purse that was broken the lady said she could have it for free but ended up charging her for it as we saw on the receipt. Update 6-26-2025 I'm so happy to take my 1 star from last year to a 4 star this year!! The store was definitely better organized. The biggest change was how friendly the staff was this time. Gail checked me out. She was super nice & wrapped my breakable items nicely & boxed them. Then she asked if I could use help getting things out. I was very appreciative of that. The only parking is on the street & it's not super close to the entrance. A young lady, Jenny, helped carry my boxes out. The store still needs a bit more lighting. I'm always happy when a business looks at their feedback & responds in a positive way. My negative feedback last year was just 1 of many, all saying the same thing. A simple hello or smile from an employee goes a long way for me. Thx for making this an enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be back.

Prices were outrageous. The place is a dump. I found a bowl & when I went to check it out, the 3 employees couldn't stop their conversation for 1 minute. They continued the conversation while checking me out. No, thank you or acknowledgment...

People that work there are very nice very helpful and very friendly I always like stopping here cuz you always could find something prices are not bad remember when you buy something here you're also giving to people who really need it. It goes to charity. When you buy stuff there let them have the change because you're helping someone else. Who really needs it. Thank God for people working there making this world a little better for everyone...
