Strand Theatre — Local services in Sturgis

The movie was good (although at times you could hear the loudness of movie next door), the workers were courteous and helpful and attentive, the popcorn and super sized drink were good, but the1st seat I sat in was broken and almost sat on the floor, but eventually found a seat that was working! The place needs to be closed and renovated for adequate seating knowing that a lot of people come to this theatre! Thank you for your dedicated work crew! February 12, 2020 ... Went to see 'Doolittle'! Apparently; the owner doesn't much care about reviews because NONE of my previous concerns (from a year ago) have been addressed! Appropriate movie to see because the owner DOES 'do little' to improve the customers pleasure of watching a movie! The theatre stinks ( very musty dusty smell), it was freezing in the theatre, the pop had a musty taste (machine needs cleaning), the seats are falling apart and too many local commercials! You would think that with all those commercials ... the place would have enough money to fix this dump up! It is clear ttha the owner doesn't care! Too bad because Sturgis is revamping its downtown, but not here! AGAIN; the ONLY good thing about The Strand is the dedicated work crew! 2-14-2020 ... Talked to other people and they said they would never go to the Strand again, either! C'mon owner ... DO something to clean up your terrible venue! Did you ever wonder why there would be only 5 other people watching...

Great everything! Very suitable for a group of kids, easy to navigate. The ticket master was great with the small group of kids I had on this trip. The entire staff was upbeat and a pleasure to be around as they took requests from the kids and even patient as a couple didn't know what they wanted or the options they offered. Very quick with service and respectful. Seating was pretty comfortable and well placed for easy viewing of the screen. The sound was very clear and profound. Not crackling or poping like you hear in theaters sound systems. We all really enjoyed our selves. We will definitely catch another movie here if we find ourselves looking for another theater night out. Thank you so much for helping these kids have a safe...

Talk about hospitality! My husband and I live fairly close to the theater and we can walk to the theater, very convenient! We got to the theater at 7 because we thought that is when our movie started, but it was at 640. We were bummed but we should have looked better and we decided to take concessions home. The owner told us that the movie didn’t have anyone in it and he would restart the movie for us! We got our popcorn and Pop it was fresh and great! We enjoyed the movie and the hospitality.
