Man where do I even begin. Starting off let's say when I moved into this location for the first couple months I would have ranked it 4-5 stars, however as time went on I started to really see the bad sides of this management and location. The location is very appealing to the eyes, however behind the scenes it is very poorly run.
Let me start off with the inability to incorporate a functional fire alarm system. In the last 3-4 months the first alarm has probably been activated 5-6 times, including multiple instances where the fire department has to clear the building. The gallery is oftentimes silent about these incidents which included a mid-week 2 am fire alarm and a Sunday 7am alarm. No respect for residents' ability to get interrupted sleep. You know how much military and medical staff lives in this building, many of them working long rough hours to serve the public and then are rewarded with ridiculous commotions like this. Let's not mention that when speaking to fire workers they stated this was due to a technological error and had nothing to do with the residents.
Meanwhile the Gallery is silent. No apologies, no discounted rent, no solution. Instead they decided they need to enter every apartment for inspection and will not be able to provide time slots for when inspection will take place. Yeah that's right, if you're at work or busy they do not care, they will enter your property anyways and invade your privacy. I was told I would get a visit in 5-10 minutes after receiving a phone call. I called back after 60 minutes and said hey I have work stuff, and personal tasks I need to do, what's the deal with the wait. I was provided no great answer and told I could go about my business with work. Excuse me for not wanting to be interrupted during my job promotion interview. This is exactly what I'm talking about, they have no regard for your daily important tasks. As if having 3-4 people enter my apartment while in a zoom call wonât impact my focus and performance. Little to say it took hours for this inspection to arrive. These people have no respect for their residents. Let's also make it clear, this is the 3rd time fire has entered my apartment in 3 months and when fire is not entering, maintenance is to check the HVAC systems (Happened twice in 4 months). Therefore if you want any type of privacy in your apartment complex this is complete NO. It is crazy that nearly ½ of my floor has ring cameras because they are seriously concerned with what individuals are coming in and out of their apartment when they are not home. They run this place like a college dorm, not people's homes. Personally I leave valuables sitting around my apartment, it's crazy to think people who are not employed by the Gallery are given access and could easily scoop an item up. And yes when they did finally arrive, it was two workers not employed by the Gallery, not even being escorted by maintenance which is supposed to be their policy.
Don't worry we are just getting started. Let's speak about the lack of security of the building. For whatever reason the gallery thinks it's a good idea to leave the front door open during business hours. Yeah great and all until non-residents start entering the building and causing chaos. Kids will walk in the front door and let their buddies in the side door, then proceed to use the amenities and act like they own the place. Like seriously what kind of incompetence is this. Like hello, how about a buzzer system at the front door and let staff buzz in people who don't have keys. They don't have keys for a reason, buzz in the amazon drivers, but donât just give free access to non-residents. There are serious security risks in these buildings and the Gallery simply turns a blind eye. This is probably why I have seen multiple police presence at the complex since...
Read moreGallery at Godwin feels very dirty college dorm rather than luxury apartment. The fire alarms are constantly going off all hours of the day and middle of the night. Walls are paper thin, you can hear EVERYTHING, hallway noise on your floor, hallways noise from the above floor, every footstep your upstairs neighbors take, everything. The building has been under construction for almost 6 months due to a resident hanging clothes on a fire sprinkler knob and flooding all 3 floors so thereâs tarp and cardboard laid out all the time. The woman who works the pool has a nasty attitude to residents and uses her time working the pool to hang out with her bf/husband while he tans/swims. If you live above the garage people blast their music at all hours of the night or rev their engines and squeal their tires when pulling off. They claim secure building but thereâs constantly non residents in the building causing issues for residents. Car thefts and break ins are horrible here but the main priority of the management company is putting in speed bumps rather than cameras. Residents put cameras in their windows to catch outside of building happenings because the complex wonât do anything to help it. Donât bother going to get security from the front they sleep during their shift. Non residents use the garage to hang out and wander around residents cars or cut through to the townhomes around us. Residents who have been here for some time will tell you not to go outside the fence at night since itâs questionably not safe. Homeless people are regularly wandering the grounds. The complexâs priorities only fit whatâs best for the store fronts and not their residents paying 24k+ a year on a single apt. If you ask for a parking spot in the garage they waitlist you but thereâs at minimum 10 open parking spots for months now, youâll have to park outside the garage and hope your car isnât broken into. No privacy for residents since they conduct inspections quarterly really helps it feel like a âluxuryâ dorm under close supervision. Water leaking from ceilings. Residents leave their garbage in garbage chute rooms making them smell like trash on resident floors. Front office staff used to be good, ever since Kara left it seems to be very snippy and short with renters when you stop in there. If you pay for storage might as well get your money back and leave it out like some people do for months at a time but nothings done about it. Management canât do much about the lack of thought process residents have when driving through the garage with vehicles over height knocking off sprinklers, or residents hanging clothes on sprinkler systems, or even the 3 am alarms for whatever reason that week but they sure do waste a lot of time asking for positive Google reviews on every package delivered to the building rather than fixing the issues residents are having for MONTHS and MONTHS now. For future potential renters, donât do it, far and few between people are 100% satisfied with this complex. Invest your money and time...
Read moreI honestly regret choosing this complex and canât wait until my lease is up. If I could give 0 stars I would! When we first moved in, there were major issues with basic utilities. The water wasnât even connected to our apartment initially, and they had to come fix it without offering any compensation for their mistakes. Six months later, we discovered a leak behind the wall that was not discovered until there was mold, which made us sick. Despite the high water bills due to the leak, the management never provided any compensation, although they did eventually âfixâ it. The fire alarms are a constant annoyance, going off at least once a week & in the middle of the night even. Management seems more focused on whats on your balcony, installing speed bumps and charging tenants if their packages sit too long in the mailroom rather than addressing actual safety concerns. Cars are frequently broken into or stolen from both the parking lot and garage. My own car has been broken into twice, and my significant other once even when parked in the supposedly "secure" area. There are no cameras anywhere near where cars are parked, and management does nothing to address this ongoing issue. They simply tell tenants to file a police report, but without any help from the complex, what are the police supposed to do? Clearly these people know how to avoid the âcamerasâ this complex has installed. The police have even stated that dozens of cars get broken into out here & that we should contact management to have more cameras installed. Believe me we have tried and NOTHING! & Donât get me started on the âsecure buildingâ We have witnessed many individuals just enter the elevators and wait for someone on a different floor to get into the building. So much for secured! The walls in these apartments are paper-thin, and you can hear anything & everything going on next door, above and even below your apartment. It's impossible to have any privacy especially with all the inspections. All of the glowing 5-star reviews seem to come from people who have only lived here for a short time, and I suspect the complex even asks tenants to leave them after they sign the lease. The management doesnât seem to care about the safety or well-being of its residents. In fact, they responded to a 1-star review by thanking the tenant for leaving a â5-star reviewâ â which is just ridiculous because clearly they did not. Overall, I do not recommend living here. There are much better places available...
