Shun Xing Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Suffolk

Shun Xing Chinese Restaurant 9128 Godwin Blvd Suffolk I went in to place an order. I noticed a flag was blocking view of the kitchen and this peaked my curiosity. As I looked, two gentlemen were in the kitchen preparing orders. I noticed no gloves or handwashing between handling various meats and products from the refrigerator to the pan to the packaging . This alarmed me so I got one gentlemens attention and the conversation is below.

He walks away to go answer the phone and takes an order. Then he walks back to the kitchen and starts dropping food for the order he just took. Then, he starts placing food in a bag and brings it to me. All the while, he has worked in the front and the kitchen and still has not washed his hands When he brings my order to the counter I remind him that I have requested a refund. This time he huffs, and rolls his eyes and walks to the cash register. At this point I'm can see he's fustrated because he's talking to the other gentleman ( foreign language) and waiving his arms suggesting " I dont why"..

I walk closer to the counter and say, if it helps, keep the money and the order, I won't be coming back and left.. this was my first time visiting this place because I'm new to the area and it was highly recommended by a friend.. not sure if anyone else had a similar experience but please be careful how ur food is prepared and where you spend your...

... So I try to Set my expectations accordingly- So keep in mind I am rating this as a fast food joint. Service Could be better but the man cooking Salvaged customer Service. So they need Improvement, Food was one disappointment after another. Pan fried Dumpling- Deep fried, Moo Shoo. Beef- Pancakes were horrible and beef dry. House Soup-2 small shrimp Ok taste though. Bourbon Chicken was on the Dry side. Chicken LOW MEIN was over cooked noodles almost tasted Like a poor Linguine, FINALLY the Pork Fried Rice was AWFUL. 1st of all If I wanted yellow rice I would go to a Spanish Restaurant.. No Egg? We order from them fairly often because we love the quality and the value of the Family Meal Deals. I love the crab Rangoon and fried wontons and again get them pretty much every time we order so I’m familiar with how they are typically cooked. Today our order of wontons was not up to standard. Overcooked so the wonton wrapped itself was too crispy and had that yuck burnt flavor, but even the pork inside was hard from being cooked too long. Ok, things happen no biggie.

My issue is when I called the store to politely inform them and ask if I could bring back tomorrow as we live a bit away or even just make a note for a new batch rather than a refund the woman answering the phone cut me off. Then told me I need to let them know ahead of time if I don’t want it cooked like that because the outside cooks faster than the inside. Well never had an issue with the way they were cooked before mam. No apology, no offer of resolution and basically went silent until I hung up.

Pretty rude and I’m not pleased with that...
