Dodd Camera Dayton — Local services in Sugarcreek Township

On 5-4-25 I visited Dodd Camera. Let me explain: My brother John is a girls basketball coach for an AAU team.

Last year both he and I to went to Dodd Camera to look for a new, sturdy tripod.

My brother has a parent of one of the basketball players "film" his basketball tournaments then the parent puts it on The team's YouTube channel.

On Friday 5-2-25, before the game, the parent attempted to put the Samsung Tablet onto John's tripod we had bought in 2024.

Yikes! The ball head knob couldn't unlock, allowing the Tablet to be secured to the tripod. Luckily, I had the same tripod (ProMaster Chronicle) that I had bought from Dodd last year.

I took MY tripod over to my brother, as he had another tournament game on Saturday. My tripod saved the day!

On Sunday, 5-4-25 I took his "broken" tripod to Dodd (still under warranty).

Justin Antkoviak and Cameron Page were both in the store. Justin worked so hard (consulted the ProMaster manual) and tried to fix the problem. Alas, it was futile.

Justin made a phone call (to the boss, maybe?) and the remedy was to issue my brother a brand, spanking new tripod...same make and model.

I would give Justin and Cameron 10 stars if I could. These associates really know their stuff. I am so very glad and grateful they...

The staff at Dodd Dayton is fantastic! Alex runs a great team of Cameron, Maura, and Justin. Everytime I am in I learn way more than I ever could by watching online videos. Very patient and will just talk photography with you. I am a way better photographer than I was before shopping here, and that is no coincidence, can't speak highly enough of the staff, because at the end of the day they are passionate photographers with a wealth of knowledge.

Their in house printing is quick and the results will beat out any big store pharmacies/Walmart by a longshot! If you are looking to get film developed, their lab in Cleveland is quick and competitively priced, even in its longest turn around I have had, it is still faster than mailing it...

I was very impressed with the professional and courteous service that I received yesterday. I went in to get my camera's sensor cleaned, which was promptly attended to and accomplished in under 30 minutes. I made a couple of comments to Justin on my camera needs and desires and expressed the concern about my limits in updating my photography. He soon explained information that I had no idea that even existed, and he explained everything in a way that was easy to understand.
