Sooner Foods — Local services in Sulphur

Sooner Foods is a HomeTown grocery stores that's been around Sulphur Oklahoma for many many years they do have another one in Davis but the one in Sulphur very friendly people homey feeling when you go in great deli products I recommend the roast beef if you like roast beef. And the meat section is really good they have a butcher on sight most of the time I'm not quite sure but they could be there all day. I highly recommend you go to Sooners they have good quality food the prices may be a little higher than Walmart on some things but still I'd rather pay a little extra and patronize Mom and Pop stores rather than major corporations and that's what Walmart has become Walmart's not about the people it's about the bottom dollar. They have a very low selection on items. For example, they have zucchini but no yellow squash. They only have organic broccoli, which is over 4 dollars a piece.

They have a small selection on fresh cut meat products. Not bad quality, just a few packages here and there.

They need to figure out a better ventilation system for their fryers. When I walked in, the air was heavy with frying oil fumes. If the fire department shows up, they would most likely get a fine.

I was in the store for about 10 minutes, getting a few items and my clothes stunk of old fryer oil by the time I got out. I try to avoid Walmart as much as possible, but it's hard to do that when the local grocery stores don't have anything you're looking for. Especially in the fresh produce and meat...

Great place to buy your groceries! Everyone treats you like you're an old friend. Like they've known for years, even though it was my first time shopping there. The atmosphere was great. The store was very clean and neatly organized. I could find everything I needed easily, almost like I had been there before. It has everything you need and a whole lot more. It even has a very nice Deli, and the ladies who run it are wonderful, make you feel at home. They are excellent cooks. The ladies and gentlemen at the check-out were very friendly and polite. I will definitely be going back any time I'm in Sulphur...
