A Disappointing Experience at the Casino Our recent visit to Presque Isle Downs Casino near Erie, PA left much to be desired. We have visited this Casino many times over the years. We were camping at a nearby campground in our 24-foot motorhome (we don’t tow a car) and arrived at the Casino at approximately 10:00 AM on a Wednesday. We proceeded to the upper parking lot where we had parked on our visits ever since they suspended the shuttle from the lower parking lot which is quite a distance away from the casino. (it is not within a comfortable walking distance) Especially for someone with a disability. There were very few cars in the upper parking lot, and we parked the motorhome at the far end of one of the sections of the lot. A few minutes after parking I saw a security vehicle coming past and stopping beside us. My husband got out to speak to the security person and was told we cannot park there and need to move to the lower parking lot. My husband explained to the security person that he has a disability parking permit. The security person spoke with someone on the radio inside the casino and they said it didn’t matter we have to move to the lower lot. We weren’t in a handicapped spot. We picked a spot at the end of a row to not inconvenience anyone in a spot where we had parked on other visits. This spot was within walking distance for my husband to go into the casino and we agreed that when we leave, I could drive the motorhome to pick him up at the side casino entrance. The staff appeared indifferent to my husband’s needs. All in all, we left disappointed and would not recommend this casino to others seeking a fun or memorable experience. Stopped here for a few hours for lunch and to kill some time on our way to vacation in upstate NY. The casino has plenty of free parking in the outside lot. The staff that met us upon entrance was nice and the casino was clean and had a lot of machines/table games. My husband played a Popeye game and won a little over $700 (about $550 in winnings). I sat down and played the game to the right of his and lost $40 in about 3 minutes.

I prefer blackjack and found a $15 table that had the +3 side bet. You don't find that side bet offered at most places so I was excited to sit and play. Our dealer was fantastic and very personable. Happily all the players that came and went at the table knew how to play the game properly so it made it fun. They were also friendly. I was almost out of money and hit a straight flush on the side bet that brought me back up and then I hit several blackjacks and good hands after that. Ended up leaving after only up about $325 ($125 winnings) but still it was a win so I was happy.

The lady that cashed us out at the cage was friendly and congratulated us on our wins. I will say the lady that signed us up for the players card seemed annoyed that she had to do that job (she was foreign and a little hard to understand too so had to keep repeating herself). She was pretty rude to the elderly gentleman behind us in the line though. The match play money did not load to our cards for some reason. We followed directions from her and on card, but evidently didn't do something right. It was only $10 a piece , so not really a big deal.

We live in Columbus Ohio area so we are about 225 miles away but already talking about going to Cleveland for a get away so we can go back to the casino for some slots and blackjack. And the restaurant is reasonable priced and...
