AMC Weston 8 — Local services in Sunrise

Love this place..except for one thing. I took my boys today to see Wild Robot (great movie). We got popcorn and my kids wanted butter and cheddar cheese on the popcorn. They have this area where you can add butter and what I thought was powder cheddar cheese. My fault for not asking as it is not labeled what it is .I put a container on the popcorn and my youngest said “can you put more, I want it really cheesy”. Why not I thought…for the record, the powder is an orange color. We got to our seats and started eating the popcorn and quickly realized that wasn’t cheddar cheese powder. I went to the concession stand in the front and held up a container and asked an employee behind the counter “what is this?” To my surprise, it was flavored salt. That would explain why the popcorn was inedible. The employee asked if I wanted another popcorn and I said yes, thinking they were going to help me out, but instead I saw the employee ringing me up on the register. So my lack of asking and their lack of labeling cost me another $12. 😂😂. If this review can save another parent from killing the popcorn with salt…my job...

Definitely not coming here again. Anything I wanted to order, they didn't have. When I tried to pay with cash, they couldn't take it, offering to ask a manager if they could take my cash. The kids operating the registers seemed so clueless. All of them. When I went to fill my already-paid-for drink (icee), they were out, and I barely got a little bit of liquid. When I sat in my seat, everyone was talking. I assumed that once the movie started, people would stop talking, but that wasn't the case. It got worse as people started looking at phones. Someone even went to complain but said there was no staff anywhere or that was willing to come to tell other patrons to hush. I have never written a review for a movie theater before, and in my life, I can't remember a time when I ever had a bad experience. Usually, going to the movies is a happy experience... But this just really irked me and will stay with me for a while. So much so that I was compelled to type up...

I’m a father of 5 so I’m total we’re a family of 7. Going to the movies is a great bonding experience. AMC Weston 8 has been our place to bond BUT as of lately I’ve notice a change for the worst in theater conditions. The services provided at the concession stand is less than adequate and AC inside theaters is kept at an uncomfortably warm temperature. We attended today and watched Avatar after all was said and done, my total spending was $175. Clearly money is being spent here and not being applied to where it needs to go. As you can see in the pic they were out of stock of almost everything including ketchup for my hot dogs. I’m extremely disappointed with this location! The City of Weston is a premier location to live in so as an owner I expect the same for our very limited amount of businesses that are located in our small city....
