Not bad! Opened up a little later than I would have liked (my show was scheduled for 10:30, operations didn’t really begin till like 10:27) but Regal’s pre-show ads as of recent run for like 10 minutes past the listed showtimes so it didn’t scathe me. Staff was attentive and one employee who I take is a manager let me in the lobby early to chill in the arcade while they readied the concession stand for opening (I didn’t win anything from those rigged claw machines though. Sad). Nice aesthetic to the place, has two floors (although, shocker shocker, the upper one isn’t open to the public… probably just for booth access for the staff). Kind of an interesting location too, you drive up a hill and it’s not surrounded by any immediately adjacent spots of consumerism so it’s just kinda… there. Which is fascinating. Movie looked and sounded pretty solid in Auditorium 12, I think lamp life was starting to wear out but the image overall was sharp and clean and the surround speakers were fully audible and balanced. Would not object to returning.

The most wonderful place i had ever been, it was like home. Lots to do. And wonderful staff.

Tldr is this theater is very below average with very below average seating, average audio, average screen, and average image quality. .5-1.5 stars. The general concession stand area is very vintage and hasn't been updated (which is a plus if you like that esthetic). The prices and items are standard with every regal. This theater was very dirty to the point where I would say it was disgusting. It smelled like the smoking part of a casino. Nothing felt like it was cleaned in a long time. It was nauseating. This regal is average with the theaters themselves. The screen size is average. The projector had good color and contrast and appeared accurate to the film. The seats are some of the most uncomfortable I have experienced and felt dirty, but they are also stadium seats. The audio of the speakers was just ok, but the sound insulation was very old. This theater experience was really bad, and I will not be coming back. If they fixed the seats and the dirtiness/smell, it would gain 2+ stars.

*Note: After 6 pm, age 17 and under must be accompanied with an adult. This curfew is posted on location website BUT if you purchased through Google movie search that takes you directly on "corporate" Regal ticket site it does not state curfew. They will refund the ticket if needed.

When I was young, this was a great movie theater but this recent visit was terrible.

  1. Man standing by the door like a bouncer at a night club- chill, that's what the security and ticket booth checker is for.
  2. Security- glad they had security but they need to redo this..
  3. Concession stand- high priced and limited menu compare to other theaters. I went to both stands. Left side was terrible, they had to grab everything from the right concession stan, so I felt bad for the employees for running back and forth. Went to the right concession stand because I forgot an item, huge difference. Staff was more pleasing, maybe since there was a manager there. I told my cashier how wonderful of a speaker they were and I was actually happy to be there at 1 point. 1 star for that 1 awesome employee.
  4. Cleanliness- Pretty good, another 1 star
  5. Seats- terrible and uncomfortable

Overall, they need to take notes from other theaters like Reels in Lancaster and Queens in York. Move ticket staff to the front and security to the front like they used to so when people come in it's all done (building design flow is the issue). Add better food and stay consistent. People will pay more if food is delicious and good food brings ppl. Replace seats with faux leather recliner chairs.

Sadly, I believe this is the only surviving theater on the east shore. And I hope they will be able to remain open. I will not be returning unless they undertake major renovations. Just like Colonial Mall, take it down, start...

Best cinema in Harrisburg PA. I just went after a 2 year gap. Big changes - There are no ticket sellers anymore, where you used to buy tickets, they now have several automated ticket machines. Luckily, these terminals are much better than the automated ticket terminal they had before which was a real nightmare.

Picture and sound are still great and cleanliness has improved a lot.

Other changes - They now have pepsi, not Coke. Also, they no longer have the big board stating movies and times. You need to check the website first. On the ticket terminals, they have a list of movies, but it is made up of pictures of the movie posters. At first, I couldn't find my movie and then I noticed they had not uploaded the picture. There was a big gray space with the movie title at the bottom. The terminal also only gives you the movie times after you pick which movie you want. They also list movies that are opening in the future, so be careful what you select.

They now let you pick your seats and show you which seats are left, which theoretically is good, but since movie goers aren't used to this, I wonder if people actually sit in the seats they picked at the terminal, especially if you are stumbling around in the dark theater.

They no longer have a ticket taker, so that nice old guy that used to take your ticket is no longer there.

Be sure to see the big blockbusters in either theater flanking the concession stand as they are the big primary venues, also sit near the top and when your bladder is bursting at the 3rd hour of some epic flick, there is a "secret" door up top that leads to a lobby balcony hall at the end of which is a small bathroom, you'll be back and not miss the slaying of the great gormack,...

If I could give negative stars I would. They will not allow any kids without ID stating their age in after 6 pm for ANY movies, not just R rated, so don't think you could bring your well behaved teen here without being forced to helicopter parent them. I understand there's probably a lot of irresponsible parents and awful kids out here, but you should deal with that on a case by case basis instead of forcing people who have to work in the morning to pay a ludicrous price to babysit a practical adult. Website literally doesn't OBVIOUSLY state this, I guess you have to read the rules or something now before taking your kids to a movie to let them have a date. Embarrassing to the kids and really discriminatory practice towards single parents with other commitments and responsibilities. Gross place anyway, expensive, this is why movie theaters are dying out, yall aren't the movie police so just let someone buy a ticket and watch the damn movie. Run down and icky, and yes, I was rude to you bc it was a stupid policy and you guys are the reason pretty soon there won't be any movie theaters left, your stocks are sucky and the lack of maintenance and cleanliness and you being on a weird power trip is why nobody pays exorbitant prices for a pass time that people hold very near and dear anymore. Saddddd af

Also. The chick at the door (I guess movie po po or whatever) was all sparky with me and I asked for her name bc I was over it, and she was STILL rude. Girl, you need Jesus. Bless your...
