I lived at the Reserve at Paxton Creek for three and a half years. I loved my apartments. When I moved in, it was over memorial day weekend, 2016. The apartment was leased to me ready for occupancy. I was shown the apartment a few days before the weekend and noticed the odor of curry. I mentioned it to the community manager, not Beth Hill, and she agreed that it needed to be cleared out. She had an oxygen generating machine put in it for two days. I was assured that the odor would be removed and the apartment would be available over the weekend. When I began to move in, I turned off the machine, opened the windows and within an hour the odor returned. I checked the cabinets, no evidence of curry. I moved the stove, no evidence, but the sides of the stove were greasy. I went to the store, bought supplies to clean the stove because no one from the company was available over that weekend to take care of this company's violation of the lease I had signed earlier that week. I climbed up on the countertop and found curry oil all over the tops of all the cabinets. It took me two days to get it all cleaned up, while I was moving in. I was 72 years old and it was not easy. I had no place to live so I had to clean it up. On the day after the holiday, I went to the manager and showed her what I had to clean up. It was disgusting, but the odors were gone. Chapter 2 to follow soon. Chapter 2. I got only kind words from the site manager when she looked at the mess I had to clean. I figured that the company's violation of the lease, i.e, not providing a livable space, would be remedied by some offer of remuneration. Wrong. So then I figured if I leave this one go, perhaps in the future they will leave one of my foibles go. Not only was that a stupid idea, they billed me for damages i did not cause when I moved out of my second apartment in the complex on July 22, 2019. I moved out of a one bedroom and into a two bedroom . I had to clean up cat hair from under the stove and refrigerator when I moved into the two bedroom. Loved living there. I informed Beth that I would be leaving 75 days in advance of the date I planned to leave. She told me that I would have to pay TWO months rent plus surrender my deposit of over $1,000 to leave early. I did that. I requested an inspection while I was still present in the apartment. "We don't do that," was the response. I cleaned the apartment so well that Beth actually called me and asked if I had had the apartment professionally cleaned! It took two weeks to clean everything, including the lamp shades and light bulbs over the bathroom mirrors. Two months later I received a bill for $95 to repair damages that I did not cause. I refused to pay. They sent the bill to a collection agency! Good luck...
Read moreAfter returning to the area for work, my wife and I were looking for a safe and well maintained place to rent until we could move back into our house. At first glance this place seemed perfect. After living here though, we surely learned the hard way. The walls are very thin and living on the first floor, every time our upstairs neighbor would drop something it sounded like a bowling ball falling on our heads or the child upstairs was doing gymnastics. We could hear when they would be in the bathroom above us at the same time, which was also disgusting. In addition to the upstairs neighbor, I swear some nights I even heard our next door neighbor on the first floor snoring at night time when it was quiet and I was in our master bedroom trying to sleep. Our bathroom molding near the tub also started becoming moldy only a few months after moving into our brand new place and we were told by maintenance that this was because they used paper material instead of wood. The granite also did not appear to be sealed on the counters bc even the slightest water marks left stains. It was all just very unreal for us. I have to admit I was definitely not used this kind of rental living. So needless to say, we decided it was time to move out and break our lease early, we simply had enough. My wife had emailed the property manager and we were ensured that we would forfeit the security deposit and paid an additional month’s rent so that we could break lease early. My wife kept all of these emails as well. Well, a few months after moving out we began being called by the new apartment complex manager (they had been through several different managers) and thought we had got this taken care of. A few creditors also starting calling us and stating that we owed money to finish out the lease. My wife also contacted the main metropolitan management group office management and we were told two different stories. 1. That it would be taken care of that it was a “ mix up” and 2. They were unaware of this happening. Well even though the phone calls have stopped, I pulled my credit report and saw that because of their wrongdoing, even after we were ensured it would be taken care of that now our credit had suffered a major blow of over 100 points in our credit score and we were reported to a credit agency. This is coming from two professional individuals with almost near perfect credit and a perfect rental history from ALL past rental companies. This company will tell you they will get things taken care of but they do not. I write this post to STRONGLY CAUTION others about this place. It may be pretty at first glance but the walls are paper thin, things are not taken care of and they are not honest. Please please please learn from our terrible mistake and heed...
Read moreI am very disappointed I have to take to the review to get things done...I had moved in a 3bedroom with garage...upon moving in, I thought this would be a perfect fit.... but everything that glitters isn't Gold is how the saying goes.. I signed a lease with my wife for a certain amount of money for rent per month..... that was a that was inaccurate..right as we were doing paper work the property manager informed us there was an error and she gave us the wrong amount of rent and that the rent was more than we were told. (No biggie 1st red flag)..... then also at time signing of lease we were promised things in the house would be fixed immediately upon moving in ..(toliet handle would stick which caused tolier to run ,replace kitchen floor, dryer machine missing knobs, door stops weren't installed correctly, some window blinds were still bent, ect) WE MOVED....and a month after STILL NOTHING WAS DONE.... we contacted the property manager by phone and email about the situation and she always assured it would get taken care if but it never did until a month and a half finally they sent maintenance to come and fix things.....long story short....BLINDS ARE STILL BENT... they canceled the new kitchen flooring promising us they would replace still to this day...... toilet handle still gets stuck and still runs.... and lastly the community needs bigger trash dumpsters..every week the trash gets so filled up people have to put trash on the ground because there is no room to put it...so the trash at night just looks disgusting..... I'm going to end it there because I hate to seem like I'm bashing. When all I actually want is adequate service and can't get it.....no place is perfect...but come on...rent isn't cheap here..and this is suppose to be a luxurious townhouse community .... feel free to contact me...things still haven't been tskinen care of and I actually told the property manager I would be writing a review if things weren't done...that was 2 weeks ago..and that's the reason im writing ...
