For the seasoned traveler, avoid this property. On a whim, I chose to venture outside my normal chain of choice and give this Marriott property a try for during this two night stay.
As someone that stays 40+ weeks per year in hotels, highest value is on clean, comfortable, consistent and functional. Total fail here.
As others mentioned, while the property looks perfectly fine on the surface, the rooms are in various degrees of disrepair and the support from the staff leaves plenty to be desired.
You might have noticed, I mentioned rooms vs room. That is no error.
First night I spent in a room with poorly functioning ac, unable to get the room to under 78 degrees while the outside temps were 83. The shower door out of alignment, flooding the floor with water. Not slight either, door literally has 2 inch gap.
That night, I used their messaging service to request maintenance to visit the room the following day to correct. Message went unanswered until the am. When answered, they confirmed maintenance would been dispatched. During this exchange, i also asked for the AC to be looked at with the shower. Person confirmed it would be addressed.
12 hours later, upon my return to the room, nothing was done. Ticked off at this point, staying calm, I call the front desk to inquire. As expected, no knowledge of the problem or feedback from other staff members.
As this normally goes, offer was made to move rooms. Packed up. Went to desk. Got key. Next curveball, the new room was occupied. Seasoned travelers know how bad this sucks!!
Back to the desk I go. This time, as a single traveler,â Iâll assign you a new room. Would a double be okay for you, at the same rate? â
At this point, this canât be real. Like for a second, I would be paying for a higher rate for the third room you are trying to get me in. Why would I want double beds vs a king? Trampoline park inside the room? Jump from one to the other. SMH.
Get to the 3rd room, clown show continues. Short version and the irony, AC was an issue in room 1 and is the same here. Instead of properly fixing the ac, you will notice the thermostat doesnât work and is disconnected.
You are directed to literally crawl on the floor to operate the manual controls on the unit. Only a slight exaggeration. Look at the picture. You can barely see the controls because of the bench/luggage rack by the window.
Zero chance of retuning here. Much better choices in the Harrisburg area especially considering the price point for this...
Read moreHighly do not recommend. Tried moving rooms 4 times then just gave up. Besides the obvious drug raid that happened at the hotel (yes that actually happened) the hotel looks decent but has many flaws. Stayed here for two weeks for work and finally conceived them to let me stay at a different hotel. Room #1: lights not working in either bathroom (toilet is in itâs own small room), and the shower would flood to the point of standing water due to giant gap on bottom of shower door. And there was no soap or shampoo or anything and they give you a single towel for the week. Changed rooms. Room #2. Walked in, lifted the toilet seat and it was physically not even attached to the toilet. Went downstairs and asked if the maintenance man could attach it, when I was informed there is no maintenance and also no manager. Changed rooms. Room #3 was nice for a day. Shower had a piece of tile at the base of shower door and they use half a tube of caulk to keep from flooding. All the lights worked. Came into the room next day and the ac was blowing a very strong mold smell that was so overwhelming it hit you in the face when you open the door. All my clothes reeked of mold the remainder of the week due to this. Changed rooms. Room #4: all the exact same issues as room #1. Shower once against floods to the point of standing water in the bathroom and lights didnât work in the bathrooms. Besides that there was garbage bags full of old food outside of peoples rooms in the hallway for days and there was spilt milk all over the elevator and all the way down the hallway. The 2nd floor hallway smelled like sour milk for the remained of the stay. I went out to the patio they have outside, and it took 4 tries to find a metal chair that wasnât broken. I mean like legs of the chair and arm rests snapped off. Why theyâre even still there idk. The counter staff was ok. No help of any kind just offer to change rooms. For the money I would definitely seek a better hotel. Also, Iâm usually a heavy sleeper but when you stay on the side close to the highway, the truck traffic will surely keep you up all...
Read moreSo I made a reservation through my Marriott app and the cost was 156 all inclusive. However when I got to the hotel, they charged me $180 just for incidentals. I asked why they charged $180 for incidentals versus just keeping my card on file, they said it would be reimbursed after check out. I have never heard of this, in addition, I had a corporate discount which they could not figure out how to adjust so therefore I had to call the one 800 number with the manager to get that corrected. Long story short I got charged $129 and $180 for the same room so add it up , no normally I love Marriott hotels however, this location is far from a three star hotel. If I can, I will upload photos of just me walking from my room to the front desk and the pool and from the photos youâll see that there is so much work that needs to be done . In addition, the hotel photos, nowhere, reflect the actual hotel. For example, the pool in the photos showed a beautiful streaming waterfall/shower from the ceiling. However, when I went to the pool, not only was a pool cold is a polar bear would love, but the cascading shower only had six nozzles working. in addition this hotel specifically this hotel is in an area that most restaurants close at 9 PM or maybe even 10 I had actually ordered something from Grubhub an Asian restaurant locally and unfortunately not Marriottâs fault, but GrubHub stated they delivered the food to the hotel, but it never did actually arrive so therefore that was another issue with Grubhub so if you are one who enjoys a later night, dinner meeting, anytime after 8 PM, I would not choose this location because most of the restaurants in this area close at 9 PM not only for dine in but also for delivery through services such as GrubHub or DoorDash I would say avoid this hotel in this area and just look for other accommodations because this hotel is way over priced for the location. The room quality in the hotel is...
