Not all Kroger stores are equal. We lived within 5 miles of 3 different Kroger stores and I drove the furthest to shop at this one as often as possible! It's one of the bigger stores and I just love the layout. There's a Starbucks at the entrance right before the Produce section, and around the corner is a nice cafeteria/cafe section with restrooms for use whether for your Starbucks order, or for the variety of beautifully prepared foods next to the Produce.
I also like the separate section for most of the health food items - the brands you will find at Whole Foods like Evol, Udi, Van's, Luvo, Amy's - a long section of frozen foods and another long section of refrigerated foods, surrounding several aisle dedicated solely to organic, Gluten Free, and Non GMO type foods.
This store is MUCH larger and better designed than the smaller store in Landen/Maineville. But the single most important reason I'll use this Kroger every time, is the customer service! I am a huge coupon'er - a legitimate, educated, rule following coupon lady. I know the store coupon rules better than the employees in most cases. This store is SUPER coupon friendly and customer service oriented. I never expect to use an expired coupon or a coupon that is meant for a different product. I know there are limits to 4 coupons for 4 different like items (i.e. you can't use 50 $1 coupons for Mustard and walk out with 50 Mustards - you can only use 4 coupons for 4 Mustards). Cash Registers are finicky. When theirs aren't working properly, they never blame the customer. If you are legitimate, and not a cheater, they will even manually enter those pesky coupons and take you to another register so other customers are not inconvenience.
They are great about giving Rain Checks if they have an advertised special and they are completely out of that item.
We've purchased cakes from their bakery; we love their fresh salmon in the summer to put on our grill; they even have a pretty decent floral department. Best Kroger within a 15 mile radius! I've tried Loveland, Goshen, Landon, Mason, Milford, and West Chester, and there's...
Read moreDon't buy produce online and pick it up at the store. My tomatoes had enough mold to start making Pencilin. I asked to speak to the manager when I got there. After the nice lady called over the walkie for the 4th time, a manager responded. She was in the back, and it would be a while before she would be back up there. I asked if I could just have new tomatoes after waiting 5 minutes for the manager. Another worker explained to me that since I had a blue bag, the store was not at fault. It was the distribution center fault. But she would allow me to get some non moldy tomatoes. She pointed back to the produce section and said to go get them. When I finally got back to ask if I could leave with the new tomatoes, she just waved me on saying that fine! 🙃 Agian, not the store's fault, I blame the corpate side. Under staffed and under trained customer service. No one asked me for a receipt, "we are sorry this happened to you as I am leaving." Me too!
I managed retail stores for 20 years, and here is free advice stopped blaming other parts of your company. If you're in the back, as manager and can't leave.... call up to the front. " I am sorry, let's get you some new tomatoes, or would you like to pick them out?" Own your problem and take credit for fixing...
Read moreI want to support a local Cincinnati company like Kroger so bad, but this place constantly pushes me away. I’ve had so many bad experiences with this store, that I don’t want to support any Kroger stores anywhere. I’ve had multiple terrible experiences with click list and the pharmacy. After a particularly horrible situation with click list we stopped using them and started using Amazon Fresh to have our groceries delivered. We still go in to the store and pickup random items when we need them. This was working out well for us. We also started going to Meijer, Whole Foods & Fresh Thyme as well to supplement. We continued to use Kroger pharmacy, but it’s been bad experience after bad experience.
As much as I hate to say this, we’re done with Kroger. Today was the last straw. I’m switching to cvs as our primary pharmacy and will continue to use Amazon Fresh, Meijer, Whole Foods & fresh thyme for everything else.
I wish Kroger was better. I tried so hard to support them, but it gets to a point where I can’t anymore.
If customer service is important to you, then don’t go to Kroger. They’re still trying to figure out...
