Remember the days when merchants would work to earn your business? This was like stepping back in time. Shrug off all the mass manufacturing and peddling of cheap goods and stop in Philip Bortz. You will be greeted with a warm smile, treated like you're a VIP, and leave pleased with your experience. I just needed a simple watch sizing. This was the third jewelry store I tried. I didn't want to go to the watch kiosk in the mall because I didn't want to risk my nice, new watch to a teenager who probably couldn't care less. I chose the stores based on proximity assuming that any jeweler could handle it fine. The first jeweler informed me that she has never seen the type of band I had and she didn't feel comfortable with adjusting it. The second told me that he didn't deal with watches at all and referred me to another store that was closed. It was sheer luck that I google mapped jewelry stores near me and landed here. I knew immediately that I'd found the right place. A warm smile and an air of competence greeted me immediately. In just a few moments the watch was a perfect fit. In those few moments, I was greeted by a second associate who offered me water and pleasant conversation to pass the time. Could not have had a more pleasant experience than I did here!

I was shopping for an engagement ring (she said yes!) and the team at Bortz was so extremely helpful, informative, and outright AWESOME. On a couple occasions, I went in to the store to look around, ask curious questions about diamond types and styles (they have tons!), and kept “coming back” to a 3-diamond set up they had. Of course, I looked at other stores in the area but didn’t have nearly the warm/welcoming experience that I had here.

In retrospect, as a jewelry-rookie I was probably asking some silly questions, but it was an important moment in my life - and they truly respected that. They never once ‘sighed’ or turned away from any of the questions I asked. I felt appreciated, and could tell they cared about me finding “the right one” for my now-fiancée. Never once felt pressured, persuaded, or anything of the kind. I felt supported.

When it came time to get the ring sized, I dropped it off on a Friday morning and it was ready the following Tuesday afternoon. To me, it seemed incredibly quick! She was so excited to hear it was ready. Of course, it ended up fitting her perfectly. I wouldn’t expect anything less!

Matt was absolutely amazing and professional in helping design a custom band for my wife's engagement ring, and in creating a wedding ring that fit perfectly. I have visited both the location that was downtown (that appears to be closed now) & Harper's Point, and while I liked able to covertly plan during lunch hours for the engagement band, being close to the Harper's Point location was very nice in the months leading up to our wedding.

I was even able to find a unique wedding band from an estate sale that I absolutely loved and knew would be perfect for me in the process. I highly recommend them to everyone who has a need, and will consider them first for any needs for jewelry in the future. They are flexible, honest, and don't try to upsell you on anything unnecessary.
