BoxLunch — Local services in Tacoma

I've only been to this store twice since they opened, but both times I've had such a positive experience. I accidentally went the first time on their opening weekend; I happened to stop by the mall and was so excited to see this store open! Even though they were busy and seemed a little overwhelmed, all the staff I interacted with were so nice and helpful.

I went again last week to get a gift for a friend's birthday. It was definitely less busy but the staff was still so sweet. They were restocking items and tending to other store things, and still took the time to ask if I needed help finding anything. The cashier, Tavie, complimented my purple hair and just made the whole visit such a great time. Tavie was super awesome and made me smile!

I'll definitely be coming back to this store for my nerdy needs...

The employees at Boxlunch are helpful without being invasive. We have stopped shopping at a local lotion and candle place because the employees don't take "we just want to look and explore" as a viable answer. The employees at Boxlunch respected our response and let us look without hounding us. When we did have questions they were happy to answer, provide information, then let us talk amongst ourselves to make our decisions. We appreciate the approach and bought several gifts for family and friends while we were there.

If you haven't shopped at Boxlunch, it's very similar to their sister store, Hot Topic, but it has a Disney focus and a brighter store. Lots of fun options to choose from and in addition to Disney, they have a decent Harry Potter and anime selection to...

Really did not care for this location. Did not get greeted at all by the staff. They seemed far more concerned with rearranging product and ignoring people. Not one bit of social distancing and WAY to many people inside I couldnt even turn around without running into two or three other customers. It was horribly uncomfortable and unsafe for everyone. There isnt even a sign posted for max capacity which they clearly arent following anyway. I will make the time to go to the Southcenter location I wont...
