I'm not one to write reviews only read them, but after a lot of thought I need to share my experience. When I came 2 ladies were just sitting waiting, 1 was waiting so the Hispanic lady got up to do my pedicure. She seemed very put out, but I had read the reviews and wanted to give her a fair chance.
She sat me next to an older lady who was talking on speaker phone having a very private conversation. Every other chair was open (and their was 7 others) but I got the 1 at the front of the room next to someone else.
She proceed to turn the water on on the chair next mine to warm it while she put the liner in my chair. As soon as she turned on my water she started draining the other chair. Which was very loud. She then walked to the other side of the room probably 30+ feet away before thinking to ask which pedicure I wanted.
I couldn't understand what she said so I just shrugged, she asked again, and again I shrugged saying I can't hear you it's too loud. She then thought to take 2-3 steps forward and talk louder. I hadn't been given a "menu" so I didn't know what to say and just shrugged again looking around. She pointed to one sitting on the older lady's chair.
This is when I started thinking wow this water is hot... which I never do so it must have been really hot. At this point I probably should have given up, but sadly I didn't. She came back and asked what color I wanted. Again I wasn't given options so I started looking around, and again she pointed at the older lady's chair. Where I found swatches of nail colors. She was still on the phone and not paying any attention so I snuck them away.
She started getting to work on trimming my nails and OMG. I have NEVER had a pedicure hurt before! I have never complained before, but right before I decided I couldn't take anymore she finally stopped. I couldn't figure out what she was doing or digging at on my toe that hurt so much. Then she did it again on the foot. She barely exfoliated my feet before putting on the hot towels. (Which were on for probably less than a minute.)
When she got up to get the nail colors I noticed that my right toe was actually bleeding! She had tried to cut/shape the side of my nail and had dug the nail nippers under my nail prying it up.
When she came back she took the towels off while they were still hot to move on to the next thing. The painting was the only thing that seemed normal.
I thought well maybe it was just me, but no. Another poor lady came in while my toes were drying and wanted hers done too. She sat her right across from me. When I looked up to leave deciding I had sat long enough I saw at her face. It was all screwed up in pain just like mine had been a short while before. I thought to myself man I wish I could have warned her.
3 days later it was time to return to work and I had to put on socks for the first time. Both of my toes HURT when I put my socks. Turns out they were BOTH cut to short and were overly sensitive. She had also tried to cut down both sides of both big toes far past where they should have been cut. I could not make it though my work week with socks they hurt so much.
One week to the day I noticed that my feet were catching on the bedsheets. It was like the bottoms weren't exfoliated at all anymore. A week and half later I can wear socks again, but now I'm waiting for the ingrown toenails to start from the sides that were cut down. I'm prone to them already so I know it will happen. 2 weeks later I need my heels done again.
My co-worker told me to go get my money back until I told her my story. Then she said no, you have to write a review and let people know. I hate to leave a negative review, but I hate the idea of other people suffering like I did even more. Maybe the other techs are better, but the Hispanic lady very obviously dislikes her job and is very very rough. If you feel brave enough to give this place a try I would avoid pedicures with the Hispanic lady that doesn't look like she's ever smiled. You'll know it's her when she seems unhappy she's having to get up and...
Read moreMy daughters and I had a wonderful experience getting our nails done here! We will be back again!
My two daughters (ages 5 & 7) got gel manicures and I got a full set of acrylic. The technicians did an excellent job with all of our nails and wore gloves during the process and kept the work area sanitary (which if you’ve been to any other nail salons in Tahlequah you know this is not always the case). The staff were very friendly and even offered my daughters snacks while they watched tv in the lobby and waited for my nails to be done.
I got my nails the exact shape and color I wanted and my technician never cut or hurt my hands (again, something not frequently experienced in Tahlequah). She even cleaned up my cuticles and gave me a hand massage.
I can’t wait to schedule a pedicure as their set up...
Read moreFor my daughter’s birthday we went and got a manicure and pedicure and I got a deluxe pedicure. First the manicure didn’t even begin with a warm mil soak. Like it is stated in their pamphlet. The message that can with it was just her rubbing in the lotion and pulling my finger. The service for both of us was a hour and we had the same technician. I felt like it was rushed and the experience was awful.By the time we got home one of her nails already had the paint off. We went last year for her birthday and it was amazing and she was so excited. I will be going to a different...
