This farmer's market is definitely worth revisiting. I met this endearing vendor who gave me a priceless tip on how to preserve garlic when bought in abundance... thanks Weaver, won't be throwing out cloves of worthless garlic anytime soon!! š. Scott was also a great resource in selecting the first"sweet, and ready" watermelon I've eaten since moving to Tally a year ago! Take it from a Caribbean girl, the produce is really fresh, and wholesome. Wish they had more Caribbean fare like our scotch bonnet peppers and green bananas though so I could just do all my shopping in one place. And, TBH, the prices are not bad at all at some of the vendor locations. At Weaver's location you definitely get really good stuff for a great price! Oh, and be sure to stop by the juice truck. I bought both the grapefruit and orange juice and they were worth the buy. A refreshing change from the sugar infusions being sold in the stores. I almost forgot! I am not a lover of sweet pastry, so when I tell you that the donuts are definitely a must try, you know you need to go for it! I'm definitely going to beat a path back to this place. Hopefully they maintain product quality, so that I will have a go to place for really fresh fruits...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlthough there are only a handful of vendors and much of the produce runs extremely low just a few short hours after opening, I give this four stars because I appreciate fresh produce from local farms. I wish there were more vendors and I wish they brought more products but nonetheless I think it's worth a visit just to support our local community.
I love that there are options that aren't in our local grocery stores...or aren't readily available...or are overpriced. I found some great figs! Yes figs! There are items from peeled garlic to squash, tomatoes, blackberries, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, okra, white acre peas, potatoes, honey, home made sugar cane syrup, boiled peanuts, non-GMO grits, freshly cut meats etc. I overheard some of the vendors saying they take checks, of course cash is accepted as well as EBT.
I definitely can't do an entire grocery shop but you can find some great finds. The farmer's market opens at 8am and its best to get there before 10. I arrived shortly after 11 and some items were already sold out.
Parking is free and much of the...

This farmers market is really cute! There was about 16 or so booths. The booths sold vegetables, honey, meats, olives and soaps. I really like how this farmers market has a larger variety of vegetables than the one in downtown by the capital. This has tomatoes, greens, potatoes, beets, onions, ginger, and so much more. There wasnāt a large variety of fruits here but Iām sure that goes with the seasons. This farmers market was more about produce than it was small trinkets, and gifts. It was dog friendly and I saw three or four dogs. As for parking, you have to park in the shopping plaza behind the market and walk through the pass-through with bushes to get to the booths. So when you pull in you drive past the market take a left into the shopping plaza where red elephant is an park anywhere.
Some prices I paid was $1.40 for a 4 inch piece of ginger. Three dollars for a basket of cherry tomatoes. Three dollars for a basket of red potatoes. And three dollars for a basket...
