My hands were cramping from hauling in so many snook, redfish, and trout.
New review March 2nd 2018:
I had the pleasure of taking a trip with the guys in February, and again on the 1st of March (the first day of Snook season). In both cases, my fishing partner had to cancel, so it was just me, Cristian, Kenny and the fish. The February trip was a blast, with a limit of nice trout, and two slot Snook (put back to fatten up for March). About 40 fish brought to the boat! Nonstop action. For the first day of Snook season, we fought off breezy conditions and took advantage of a full moon tide. The guys knew where to go, and we had a whirlwind of constant catching around lunch time, including a 32” Snook (a keeper), followed by a Jack that fought like a big Snook, a 31” Snook (in the slot, but I could only keep one), and a 35” Snook (longer than the 33” slot limit, so it had to go back no matter what)! Another big one spit the hook, and yet another cut the leader (both losses probably poor technique on my part). So that was five huge Snook (and a big Jack) in a short time; it wore me out. The reel screamed as each Snook went on a big run—heading toward the mangroves or a nearby oyster bed. All three of the big Snook I landed had some drama, with the guys telling me how to keep the fish out of trouble spots. I could sense the enthusiasm in Kenny and Cristian and that fueled my excitement; they aren’t jaded captains just going through the motions, and their advice improved my technique for handling those monsters. I just need to do some grip-strengthening exercises before...
Read moreHad a fabulous experience this Spring Break. As much as we enjoy the beach and the many attractions Florida has to offer, our fishing excursion with Inshore Society and Captain Kenny Smith was the highlight! My wife, 18 year old son and I took a private four hour trip along the mangroves in the bay. Caught a lot of trout, lady fish, jacks and others. We are not experienced fishermen but Kenny took great care of us, baiting hooks and removing our catches. All we had to do was cast. With teenage kids, it can be tough to separate them from their electronics and keep them entertained. This trip will do that and more! Our son absolutely loved it and so did we. Kenny has a great feel for what he does and did an excellent job moving us around the bay to find the areas where the fish were biting. If you are thinking of taking a fishing trip in the Tampa/Clearwater area, I would highly recommend Kenny and...
Read moreTL;DR Just book with Inshore Society and be worry free about your experience.
We came down from Michigan and decided to book the night before and after thumbing through a few of the options we rolled the dice with Inshore Society, and we hit the Jackpot. We had Capt. Kenny for our outing and he was great! We hit multiple spots and we were pulling in some beautiful fish, snook, snapper, trout, and almost got us a few sea gulls ;). Kenny is a great Capt. and really made sure we got our moneys worth. He was able to give great tips and educate us on anything we didn't know or weren't used to. He also kept great conversation about pretty much anything. We got lucky and had a great day weather wise, so the experience was pretty much perfect. The next time we come down, we will be coming back. He also made sure to get picture for us to keep the memories...
