China Taste — Restaurant in Tampa

About as authentic as you can get in Tampa. Chinese family owned, with the dad cooking in back. The locale looks like the kind of hole-in-the-wall place you'd expect authentic food from. My Asian (not Chinese) wife said the stir fried rice was great, and not made cheaply. The Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken both had a little spice to it, which we appreciated since most Chinese in the states make their food bland as we Americans generally cannot handle foreign spicy food well. The Crab Rangoon was flavorful and fried just right, as opposed to the stale versions you get from buffets and/or common takeout places. Fairly priced, super fast, and the lady who helped me was very nice. If you gave a negative review based off a 3rd party food delivery that took an hour to get to you, don't hate on the restaurant for a poor driver. If your order was wrong, did you call them to fix it before complaining here? Locally owned and working hard. Think about that before you blast them on...

I must say....I used to live in south tampa about 6 years ago. However, I currently work here and travel from spring hill and back .China Taste is bar none the best, and I mean the best cuisine I've had in several counties. I ordered out for my wife and I from here for the first time in quite some time, since I've lived in this area. I am an egg foo Yung snob. The gravy, to me, is the essence of it. China tastes taken me back to living up north again. (No offense to my southern brethren) But, the gravy should be a rich, dark brown, just as I get here. Not some off yellow color, as I've seen many times. My wife got the orange chicken. She stated the best she's ever had. You can actually taste the pieces of orange peel!!! The vegetable fried rice was rich and vibrant with fresh vegetables....even after my hour long travel to spring hill. I was told not to go here by a former Marcos employer because of the gross things they’ve witnessed but did it anyways. My chicken was completely undercooked. I tried to go back and get a refund, the lady pretended to call a credit card company, spoke in her language, and told me I had to pay her $10 to get it back to my card? Hell no. I said can I just get the refund in cash. She huffed and practically threw it at me, my boyfriend was on the phone the entire time and thought it was absurd she would belittle a customer like that. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Gross nasty food and terrible customer service. The little girls were extremely nice but I don’t think it’s legal to have 2 10 year old working in a restaurant in their school...
