Online may be better for single parents like myself, BUT read the fine print!!! Just your Medical Assistant CERTIFICATE program (not degree) is over $14,000. Your Pell Grant will only drop it to $9,500. If you live in a very cheap state that wages haven't increased like me, you will drown in student loan debt. Everyone is nice (it's there job to be) just don't get overly excited like me and misread the fine print. I am a single mama of four kids and mississippi is the lowest paying state. There is no way I can work as an MA and make enough to pay off 9500.00 worth of loans for the same piece of paper I could've gotten at a local community college for 2500.00. MA's in MS make around 12 to 15 dollars per hour. Rent alone is over 1000.00 dollars a month. When you add that, car note, insurance, regular bills, rent and child care into the equation, that 12 to 15 per hour doesn't equal up to enough to even take care of home, mustless student loans of that amount. I have searched the internet looking for grants to help. Applied for many, and only seem to get scamming emails in response. If you live in a state that may pay more, then by all means this may be an option for you, but for the lower economy class states who could care less about their people struggling to survive, I would really read through all this before signing away almost 10 grand of your life away. I am roughly 8wks away from obtaining my certificate at this time and lord knows I want to give up, but regardless if I did or did not right now, I'm stuck with the bill, so I am trying desperately to finish. Life is not making it easy.
Aside from the absurd pricing, the staff is helpful and friendly. I can't say anything bad about them. They will try to help you as much as possible and if they cannot, they will find someone who can. In the 8 months I've been a part of this program, I haven't met anyone who didn't want to see you succeed. I've only had one class that I just did not like and I finished it today (thank goodness). This review was not to bash anyone but to only...
Read moreHello! My name is Margie Todd I am a 48 year old student currently enrolled in the Paralegal Science program here at Bryan University. First, I would like to say that if you are thinking about going to school or maybe going back to school you are on the right track with one of the best online schools available. My experience here at Bryan has been both rewarding and life changing. See, I didn't make good grades in school, often almost failing at times and sometimes I did, resulting in having to take correspondance courses to graduate high school. The staff are some of the best people to work with. They care about their students success and don't judge you and are devoted to making sure that your goals are achievable. The staff is down to earth and can relate to you as a person. Nobody is better than anybody else and it feels like home, you have a sence of belonging. They have an open door policy so to say, they are there to help you and you can go to them with anything and they can lead you to the help that you are needing not just school related subjects. The school has tutors available to help. I have had to use them and they helped me in the area of technology. When I started school, I could barely use facebook. I was worried and had fears. Those fears began to subside the further I became in school. I realized I wasn't going to be left behind with their help, I was going to succeed. Someone finally had my best interest at heart. I have not only been learning an education here but, I have learned life skills that I can use in my everyday life. Information to teach my children and friends. I have never been blessed with a more rewarding educational experience. So, if you are planning to attend this school, I can say congratulations! you have made one of the best decisions you could have ever made for yourself...
