Slow and terrible service and a sense of entitlement about tip despite slow and terrible service. Cannot believe how long it took for one drink, place was empty when I entered and by the time I was rung up (but not yet served) there were 5 people in line behind me. Then I was told I’d have to wait for her to take everyone else’s order before she’d even begin to work on my one drink after already having to wait so long I was worried I may have a parking ticket upon exit. All this after she’d received an unearned tip, and for a line that was created bc of excruciatingly slow service to begin with. Before my order was taken, I actually assumed there was a problem with the machines and that’s why it was taking so long. I am a former service industry worker so I’m overly patient, but I also know poor service when I see it and this was terrible. This location is in a business building. Read moreThis used to be my go-to coffee spot in Tempe, for the past two-plus years. It was once bright and inviting. Now it feels spartan and sterile. Staff is friendly but not the same, not as professional. They’ve removed all of the welcoming, cozy furniture, ie the sofa and padded chairs. Additives and sweeteners are basic and miserly; no honey. Coffee quality has been less consistently good. Their pastry provider has also changed, and is inferior to the one from before. The new customer service model seems to me to be: “come and spend money, but don’t linger too long, and don’t expect any of the frills and extras (such as a variety of sweeteners and creamers), despite our inflated prices and five-star location.” I’m sad to say that I won’t be going...
