The owners of this restaurant are clearly having their influencers and social media people working overtime to flood this restaurant with good reviews, but I’m going to give you an honest one.
This is some of the most boring and flavorless Mexican food I’ve had in the valley. The ambience and the atmosphere is obviously a 10/10, but the food just simply is not up to par. Everything is severely overpriced, especially $12 for chips and guacamole? And it comes with not even a handful size of chips in a tiny bowl...and they don't refill it. So you’re just left with a bowl half full of guacamole but no chips. Ridiculous.
The one thing I thought I could count on was the quesadilla, but it was the most bizarre quesadilla I’ve ever had. It’s rolled up blocks of cheese without any flavor or anything else... and then they serve the meat on the side? So you have to essentially build your own quesadilla. I also got the al pastor taco combo and it was a sour, bland mess. The rice and beans were completely flavorless. I am so disappointed because I really wanted to believe the hype about this restaurant.
Also, with the prices they charge for this restaurant, and also it being a Troon course (I have been a longtime Troon member) I expected a little more professionalism from the uniforms. It seems that the girls that work at the outdoor bar are allowed to just wear whatever they want. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t want to see exposed midriff, belly button rings, and butt cheek when I’m trying to eat my meal. This is a golf course, not a club in Old Town. I think that Grass Clippings really needs to tighten up their professionalism in this regard, because this is not the...

The food is next-level – rooted in Sonoran Mexico with a subtle coastal twist. You have to try the oysters (so fresh) and honestly, everything we ordered was packed with flavor and beautifully done. The vibes are upscale but relaxed, which makes it perfect whether you’re dressed up or rolling in post-golf.
Speaking of – it’s right next to the Grass Clippings course, which means you can pop in before or after your 9 or 18, even at night since the course is fully lit. We’ve done both and it’s a perfect pairing – golf and great food.
The margaritas are unreal – especially the Marigold Margarita made with their house juice called Sonoran Sun (turmeric, carrot, and orange). It’s refreshing and totally unique.
The patio is where it’s at – unbeatable sunset views and a great place to chill with a cocktail. Plus, after dinner you can hang out, play some corn hole, and keep the night going.
Can’t say enough good things – Glenrosa just nails it. Amazing food, killer drinks, great people, and a...

Quite a few reviews here express that the food, portions, and/or flavor weren’t up to par with folks’ expectations.
I disagree — I think that every plate we ordered absolutely smacked. The one dish I have any feedback on is the shrimp ceviche — it was a tiny bit on the bland side. However, it was still tasty and certainly a great portion (we had plenty of leftovers).
It was 2 of us and we shared the ceviche, cochinita pibil, chips and salsa (& guac), and street corn.
The cochjnita pibil literally melted in my mouth. It was so tender!
The drinks were absolute bangers. That spicy margarita is everything—get it with a tajin rim.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. Devon, our server/waitress, was very kind and attentive.
Wrapped up with some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and rolled our...
