🎶⚾☀️ This past weekend, my friends and I stepped up to the plate and checked out the Extra Innings Music Festival at Tempe Beach Park—and let me tell you, this venue knocks it out of the park for an outdoor concert!
First off, the festival grounds are brilliantly laid out, with two separate stage areas that somehow manage to keep the sound from bleeding over. Translation: you can fully enjoy your favorite band without a surprise remix from the stage next door. A+ stage design, folks.
Now, let’s talk about our GA+ ticket perks, which included some solid upgrades—most notably, the fancy port-a-potties. Listen, you don’t fully appreciate the luxury of a clean, air-conditioned festival bathroom until you’ve experienced one. That alone made the upgrade worth every penny. (Regular bathrooms were well-maintained too, but we were feeling boujee.)
Food & drinks? Well… let’s just say we put more of our budget toward the beverage portion of the evening. The drink selection was solid, but the food? Pricey and forgettable. $12 for a single slice of pizza or $55 for the whole pie? At that point, I half-expected it to come with backstage passes. Some of the options were just meh in flavor, which stung a little considering the price tag. But hey, we weren’t there for the Michelin stars—we were there for the music, vibes, and a good time!
And in that department? Mission accomplished. The music was amazing, the weather was perfect, and the overall festival experience at Tempe Beach Park was a winner. Would we come back? Absolutely. Would we eat before we arrive next time? Also absolutely. 🍕🎤🎶
Until next time, Extra Innings—we’ll be back...
Read moreThis is one of the largest Parks here in the Metro Phoenix area. There are several options ranging from hiking, biking and biking, using your rollerblades or roller skates along the walk by the big huge Lake. You can rent a boat and spend the day fishing with a very inexpensive Urban license, or explore one of the many events that this held there at the park. With Miles and Miles of different walking options, this is a great place for you to walk and relax. Parking can be a little bit troublesome, but if you follow the Google Maps I'll take you to one of the big open Lots. Be aware there are many people walking around, so use caution when leaving your stuff at tables. The bathrooms were a surprisingly clean for being a public park. That have plenty of soap and toilet paper. I noticed that they were plenty of a dog poop bags located throughout the whole complex. As well as several of the rental stalls for the scooters and electric bikes. I did notice a good presence of police officers and also a family. If you're looking for a really nice way to spend a day or afternoon here in the Phoenix area with a family, this is definitely the best picnic place to go. On a side note one thing I like about this place oh, there are several restaurants available close by. So I will definitely be coming back over and over and over again...
Read moreThis is a really nice walk with multiple routes. We walked west from the parking lot(paid $2.45 for 1 hour) along the water. Then we crossed the pedestrian bridge and headed back east for a bit before turning around and going back. The layout makes it easy to get in a longer walk which I love. My daughter loves rocks and we saw very minimal glass or areas where she couldn’t play in the rocks. There was some dog poop on the art center side in the grassy area unfortunately. The Art center wasn’t open yet but looks beautiful and the walk around the building was really nice because of the cacti and flowers surrounding it. I love that we walked almost 2 miles and still have areas in the park we didn’t get to so we can come back and explore even more on a future visit. Saw some cool birds. There were multiple spots to stop and sit if needed. Parking lot was pretty empty on a weekday morning which was nice because it definitely gets busier at...
