I scheduled a dentist appointment for myself 6 months postpartum. While making my appointment I asked if my Medicaid covered dental and was informed that it did. A week or so before my appointment which was yesterday April 1, I called to make sure it was okay to bring my baby since I had no one to watch her and I am a SAHM at the moment. I was placed on hold for nearly 20 minutes and when the rep returned she said I could indeed bring my baby and it wouldnāt be a problem. I arrive to my appointment after traveling over an hour out of town with my baby and they checked me in and took my money (sliding scale since my insurance doesnāt accept dental now all of a sudden) After being called to the back the dental assistant said wait let me ask the doctor if you can come back here with your baby. I said Iām not going back to the waiting room I called ahead of time to ensure it was ok to bring her over a week ago. She insisted that she must ask so I waited. Dr. Tooma came to me stating she could not service me because I had my baby with me and itās not allowed. She told me could check one tooth if it hurt. I explained what I was informed about it being okay to bring my daughter. Dr. Tooma stated that the call center is not aware of the dental side and their rules. WHY NOT? Why are they allowed to scheduled me not knowing nor respecting your rules if this is all one company? I do understand that bringing a baby to a doctors appointment might not be allowed which is why I called first to make sure that it was okay ahead of time. She asked me if I wanted a manager. I said sure Iāll feed my baby and wait for the manager. Dr. Tooma then says sarcastically āyou want us to feed your baby?ā Why on heavens earth would I allow or ask a dentist or anyone especially with nasty hands to even touch my child let alone feed her? So anyway I spoke to the manager and to make matters worse they would not give me my money back and stated they wouldnāt be able to schedule me again until Summer. Summer? The managers name is Jenny. I will say I had a great experience at the 8108 Fowler during my pregnancy. However I will NEVER be returning back for dental or anything else in the future due to this experience on Fletcher. How can companies schedule you then misinform you about insurance, then you away because you have a baby, and then not give you your money back. Then there was no immediate desire to reschedule me sooner than later. Itās unprofessional and a major inconvenience to anyone especially a mother traveling alone with her child. Give me my money back TFHC! Since you robbed me of my time (4 hours) that I will never get back I will be sharing my experience with every platform I can. I am also waiting for billing to return my call. I need things expedited! Just like yal expeditiously...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt think Iāve ever left a review for a medical facility before or provider, but thereās no way I wasnāt going to this time.
This was our very first OB appointment, and we were so excited for it. Our first appointment to confirm the pregnancy wasnāt the best, because customer service at that specific location wasnāt the best, nor was the atmosphere. I was happy when I found out my next appointment where the first official OB appointment would be at a different location. This was also my first time at the TFHC on Fletcher.
We were both SO pleased, and so happy with every single person. From check in, to the MA that pulled us back, to the person who took my blood and of course, the provider - Renette Seneque. I donāt take exceptional care like this lightly, especially in such a vulnerable time, and I was so hoping for a good first experience but it suppressed that. Iām also in nursing school, and understand that unfortunately there are parts of medical care these days that lack empathy and comfort, and this experience was quite literally the opposite.
Renette our provider, was absolutely outstanding. She went through everything and answered all my questions. She comforted me, and made me feel so at ease and heard. We talked, laughed, went through important info and she explained gradually what the next few months would look like. The MA was so sweet, I voiced to her I was nervous for bloodwork because it was so early and I didnāt have time to eat anything, and she made sure to communicate with the lab staff and was there for me the whole time.
The lab staff who did my blood work, was amazing! Iāve gotten blood taken a few times these past few months and had awful experiences. This time I didnāt even feel the needle go in. And barely bled after she took it out. Being my first OB appointment, they took quite a bit of blood, but let me stay in the room laying down so I could be more comfortable and relaxed. The check out person told me there was an issue with my insurance once we were in the room already, but did everything she could to help me resolve it, and made sure I had gotten it squared away. And we did!
And lastly of course, the ultrasound tech (Nicole) was so lovely as well. Comforting, answered my questions, was gentle and included my partner as much as she could which we both appreciated so much!
Overall 11/10 experience, Tampa Family Health on Fletcher is by far my favorite location to go to, and I want to acknowledge everyone that works there that made our first OB appointment so relaxed, worry free & pleasant. It truly made our day even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been the worst experience that I have ever had going to the dentist. They will tell you one thing over the phone and tell you something different once you get there. And please be aware they will not allow you to go in the back with your child for certain procedures and will not allow you to bring your child with you to your appointment. Here is what happened to me:
Several weeks ago I had made an appointment for my son and I to get x-rays and a cleaning done. I had explained over the phone that obviously my son will be there when I would be getting my teeth done, they had told me no problem. I was told to arrive 30 minutes early because we were new patients. The day of the appointment my son and I showed up 30 minutes early, only to find out that they were closed for lunch. Once they reopened and called my son back (about 20 minutes after his scheduled time). I was told I was not allowed back there when they did the x-rays. I have never ran into that problem before but I was told I would be called as soon as they were done. About 15 minutes goes by and I haven't heard anything so I went to the front desk and asked what was going on. They told me they are just going over the x-rays and that they would call me shortly. Another 15 minutes go by and now I have started to worry. When I went to the front desk and asked to go back to see my son to make sure he was okay they told me no. So, at that point, I told them to bring me my son that we were leaving. When I told them that, they let me go back to where my son was. Shorty after talking to my son and making sure he was okay, the hygienist said that they were going to clean his teeth and took me to the room next to him so I could start my appointment (about 1 hour after my scheduled appointment time). Before they started anything I made sure that my son was allowed to come into my room once he was done with his appointment. They reassured me that he could. Once my x-rays were done and my son 's cleaning was done a women came into the room and said that they have to reschedule my appointment. I asked why and she told me that per their policy only the patient is allowed in the room, meaning my son couldn't sit in the room and wait for me to be done. I told her that I was told twice by the employees that worked there that it would not be a problem. She said that there was nothing she could do but to reschedule me for a time when I didn't have my son with me. So, I had no choice to but to cancel my...
