Havenât been here since the lady with the underbite that works at night burped hot gas directly into my mouth then mentioned that she was actually sick and recalled how a customer was concerned and brought up he had a newborn at home and what she was doing was inconsiderate, her response was saying, âthat baby needs to be exposed somehow! I donât have the money to stay home!â That was in December â24 so I havenât been in about 10 months (go me!).
Anyway that was gross and these prices suck and quality plus selection is beyond subpar (usually the produce is moldy I can attest to that), so I do my best not to support this place. Even if it means driving 20 minutes elsewhere when all I need is a pound of beef. đ„© to the cashiers. Maybe try not to let your politics and nasty gas leak into customerâs spaces. To managers. Train them on what they probably shouldnât be spouting off about to customers. And send your sick people home. Boo hoo managers work a little harder when staff is sick. Get over that. Itâs part of the job. Cause a cashier saying what that lady was saying⊠might be the breaking point that turns customers off from your extortionate prices and horrible selection. For good. đ
Had to write this cuz I need a pound of beef and needed to remind myself why I drive 20 minutes away to...
Read morePeople working here are totally fresh!!! Like fantastically cool peoples! This is the best booze and beer stop around!!! Produce is okay if it's charged correctly at the registers.. when you first enter the store, it's like stepping back in time! Like stepping into a grocery museum! How much fun is that!!! And the great beer and cider selection!!! Literally, there are wines that have been on the shelf for over 2 years, win!!! Some of the canned and dry goods have been on the shelf for over 2 years too... They even date the meat products a week out from pack date! When the industry standard is 3 days, they said "nope" we're going to do 7. And they don't have a dry aging facilities. They are okay with selling green/brown meat. I was warned by almost everyone in the South Puget Sound area, that has been here, to avoid the green/brown or ground meats. But come on, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger right! And they're going strong and have been around forever with the looks of the museum-like atmosphere! Feel free to post comments about eating the brown/green meats. Just curious how people fared after the 7 day old meat challenge! That's right you've been challenged to eat a seven-day-old steak from this store and post...
Read moreMan Iâve finally just had it with this place. Itâs never been a GOOD store, but itâs been a close store, so I go there, despite the poor service, the high prices, the lack of selection, the wilting produceâŠ
But Iâm over it. The checkers donât seem to care about their jobs, they donât know produce, they donât know inventory. Youâd think they were younger people but no, theyâre all 50+ which blows my mind. When I was a checker we learned how to be good checkers. Tenino Market just hires people who breathe.
The people who stock the shelves donât care either, as Iâve purchased multiple items that were slashed by box cutters. Most recently my breakfast was ruined when I made the trip to the market for tortillas, only to get home and notice they were all dried out and hard. The culprit? A huge razor sharp cut along the back of the packaging.
If you live near this place, itâs worth the hassle driving further into Tumwater. Literally any store is better. You know what kind of service youâre going to get at Wal-Mart. Youâre going to get the same at Tenino Market, youâll also pay more for it and get a worse selection of lower quality...
