If there was an option to leave 0 stars I would. I lived in the UV's from roughly 2014-2017. I lived with my girlfriend from 2015-2017 in the loft apartment building and by doing this you are required to sign two leases, no big deal.
Well it is now November 2020 and my girlfriend received a letter form a debt collection agency from the UV's saying we owned them money. If anyone has dealt with the UV's before you know that they make up charges like "party clean up fee" if anyone in the complex throws a party every unit will be charged $10-15 to clean up, it was a racket. Anyways, I reached out to the UV offices and spoke with Melissa, yes the wonderful wicked witch of the Haute. I asked how much of my deposit I received back (two leases two deposits). I only received $70 back of my deposit back out of roughly $350, no problem I paid for what ever "damaged" they could find, sure. My girlfriend never paid her deposit, but was charged 3 years later for roughly the same amount of money for "damages". Over 3 years later and we are being sent to a debt collection agency for charges that have already been paid. This place has to be the biggest fraud and takes advantage of broke college students. Luckily I am no longer a broke college kid, but for the students there or thinking about going there beware. With Melissa out of the leasing office hopefully things get better or are currently better.
Good luck if you decide to live there and hopefully they don't try and double charge you and then send you to collections because they can't keep proper track of their books. It is not the money, it is the principal. Also the chargers were for carpet cleaning and painting, which is normal routine maintenance and the tenants should not be charged for those items in Indiana, I guess I will chalk this one up as "party...

My roommates and I moved out 3 years ago at this point, and the complex decided to make us a piggybank and charge us for nebulous "damages" and "cleaning". This claim was filed earlier this month (August 2020). No contact of any sort was made to state we had an "outstanding balance", in over 3 years. My number and contact info has not changed either.
Mind you we recieved none of our security deposit back 3 years ago, and we do have a list of the charges they made that we had removed from our security deposit at the time. All charges were paid at that time. They even charged us for carpet cleaning when we were told they were ripping out carpet and replacing it with hardwood floors.
I now have to send a dispute letter to a collections company in Georgia, because I will not be paying fraudulent charges.
Property manager also ignored my call and did not call back. The desk also intentionally gave me the incorrect info to tell the collections agency, which led to a fun conversation on the phone.
Stay away. The apartments are average at best, there are tons of parties, and fraudulent claims on top of that.
EDIT: Also, just to be informative, if they put "new paint" or painting fees on move out damages, challenge them on that at the time it occurs, do not wait. Especially if you have lived there for more than a year. Paint constitutes normal wear and tear in most states (Indiana is included I believe), and they are not supposed to charge for that. It can even be illegal in some places to do so. Obviously check your local laws first about the matter, they can be different. This complex preys upon ignorance of your rights as a tenant and people's wishes to just make things go...
Read moreCareless, shady, and rude management. Melissa only communicates when she chooses to and is extremely negectful when it comes to teant issues. Like when my apartment flooded while I was home for Thanksgiving break and not only was I never contacted, allowing everything on the floor of my bedroom (like my televison, shoes, and clothes) to be ruined, management just put a blower in my room to try and dry everything after four feet of water from my neighbors unit poured in. After two weeks of my carpet being literally soaking wet, Melissa came in and saw for herself and her solution to cleaning up the water was to go into my kitchen and take my papertowel and try to soak it up that way. After 4+ weeks of fighting her on resolving the issue I eventually gave up. Carpet and carpet pad were never replaced. When I moved out they charged me to clean the carpet, and tried to get every penny they could out of me. If you notice all the recent positive reviews its because we were offered rewards and gift cards if we gave positive reviews of four stars or higher so beware- fake news. Awful management, like Bailey said such a poorly...
