Years ago I loved the pizza here. I just ordered one tonight, and after sticker shock at seeing the price, I went ahead and ordered a 16" sausage pizza. It came to $29.36 which included a $3 delivery tip. What arrived was a pizza that wasn't even as good as a frozen pizza from the grocery store. For one, it was ice cold and looked like a pizza that had been sitting out for a couple hours. But the flavor was just bland. Even my kid hated it, and he loves any pizza I get. This place has really gone downhill. I wouldn't pay $7 for the pizza I got. Never again. There are much better pizza joints in Terre Haute, with much better pizza, for less money.
In response to Ballyhoo - Thanks for clarifying. Yes, Doordash has ruined pizza delivery. You can't order a decent pizza anymore without paying almost as much for the delivery as the price of the pizza. But the statement about being able to buy much better pizza for the money... try Paloni's. You'll see what I mean. I leave their pizza in my cold oven overnight, and even cold it is a great pie.
I used to get Ballyhoo pizza when I was 30 years younger, and I used to love it. It was a lot better pizza back then. A lot more sausage, more sauce, and a lot better flavor. The pizza I got was really bland.
I raised this to 3 stars simply because I feel for you on the Doordash craziness. But come on... put some more love...
Read moreUpdate!!! got a pizza 7-28-2023.. and it still tasted like it was under a sofa recliner for 35 years! Ugggg. PIZZA RESCUE And maybe a suggestion... to the Chi-Town owners... put a drinks in a real glass... not a small plastic dixie cup. You can afford it.
I have not been here for YEARS! We were in town for a family medical emergency and staying in hotel. Thought getting a pizza from ballyhoo would bring back a little memories and lighten up our situation. However, the pizza we received seemed like a pizza that may have been under a dorm room couch since 1989. It was not good...Uggg. Thanks for the 3:30 am bathroom...
Read moreWent in around 6pm on a Friday to have a few drinks and play some pool with friends before dinner. Bartender was really nice and even helped me try and find a place I was looking for in town. Had a pitcher of Bud Light for $5 and a pitcher of Long Island Ice Tea for $10. Not bad on prices compared to other bars. Got 3 people pretty buzzed for $20 with a tip. The place loses 1 star simply because the bathrooms were a little rough. Not just dirty, but in need of repairs. Didn't even have soap. All in all, will return next time I'm in Terre Haute. Might have to try some of their...
