I bought a refrigerator from Aaron’s in Honesdale Pennsylvania, for about $2,500 and chose the 1 year plan. They let me do bi-weekly payments so I could make 2 smaller payments a month of $125 instead of $250, and anytime I needed a few extra days sometimes even a week, they did it no problem. They even returned half my monthly payment $250 once and let me pay it the next month so I had it to use for my Sons birthday party. As long as you’re honest and communicate with them, they are great and willing to do whatever they can to help you and make sure you pay off your purchase and avoid any unnecessary fees. As long as you are communicating with them, there is no reason you should have any issues, at least if you’re using the Honesdale location. I can’t speak for any other location but I assume they all have the same training and policies. They aren’t one of those places that try to find any and all reasons to charge you extra fees. They try to help you avoid that. I would say anyone that has an issue with using Aaron’s either accepted something they knew they couldn’t afford or they were not honest with them or didn’t even bother to communicate at all. They did more to help me complete my purchase than I can even write here, but I always stayed in Contact with them, to the point they knew me by name. Especially if it was 6 months or so later with no missed or late payments, and you then asked them for an extra week or whatever else, I’m sure they would help you out. If you don’t call and tell them though or ask for help after the fact, then that’s your own fault. Although like I said, they did even help me once after the money was already taken out of my account and returned it to my account, agreeing that I would pay that along with my next months payment. Really great service, more than I expected from a rent to own place, considering most others try to do whatever they can to make you default and repossess the purchase. My only suggestion other than communication, is to pay it off as soon as possible. I chose the 1 year plan and they only made about $300-$400 off interest, as opposed to the 2 year plan where they made more like $1,200-$1,500 off interest. But the monthly payments for 2 years was only about $150/month compared to $250/month for 1 year. It’s whatever fits your situation better.
P.S. My only complaint is that I was told after I paid it off I could request for corporate to report the loan paid in full with no missed payments. I’m trying to get a loan for a house and they report would make a huge difference on my report, giving me a better chance of approval with more options and lower interest. They said it takes about a month. That was 2 months ago. But that is not because the people from Honesdale lied. I feel it’s just the people from corporate don’t care for the customers the same as the employees from my location. That’s the only bad thing I have to say. That one little request, that I’m sure isn’t hard for them to do, would make all the difference in my report that I need. My bank said I need my score to go up 25+ points. That may be enough alone to make that happen. Maybe someone will read this and make that...
Read moreI have been a customer of Aarons at this location and was always happy until yesterday. Now I will never go back to Aarons again. I had couches delivered yesterday, 2/7/24 and they had a problem getting the sofa in but in turn did get it in tho. They brought it in straight which was difficult for them to do. I told them to tilt it while it’s straight but was ignored. Thankfully the couch was not ripped. I went into the store a little while ago to complain about it. The employee who was working was the girl who delivered my couches with the other employee. When I explained to her about tilting it she said they couldn’t because the doorway wasn’t long enough. She must have a comprehension problem because that’s not what I said. So I told her that’s not what I’m talking about and had to take a sign off the counter and show her how to tilt something while it’s straight and she said they tried that which is a LIE!!! As I watched them bring it in straight ONLY ...
Read morei love this place. cheyenne, amanda, and ericka are a bunch of sweet little dolls. if i left anybody out of that team, sorry we just haven't been fully introduced yet. they are so nice and so caring and love to work with people as much as they can, they take the time to listen to the customer, and help with whatever the customer would want to rent to own in the store. and they go the extra mile to makesure the customers are satisfied, they pride themselves on that. they also follow the rulebook, they check your ID card and your place of residence when they come to deliver to your house. which alot of places do not do anymore, but the great aarons team here does. you should give them a try tell them earl sent you, they're prices are so much more reasonable than their competitor, you know who i am...
