My mother and I went to Aaron's, (the Dalles Oregon location) to buy a new Dryer. Mom was looking at a basic new Dryer. The sales girl came to talk to us. Mom asked about the next level up. The girl showed us a used dryer (more expensive) that supposedly had been used by the previous owner for two months before he died. There was allegedly still 10 months on the warranty. Mom bought it paying cash(200.00 more). It was delivered three days later. We did a load of laundry and it ran for a couple hours before we decided it couldn't possibly take that long , even on optimal dry setting. The next load we set on LESS DRY. We went to bed. Mom woke up 6 hours later and the dryer was still running. She turned it off and told me about it when I got up. I called Aaron's and reported the problem. I figured they would send a repair technician, but I was told "we don't do repairs on our products so I need to talk with our manager, can I put you on hold?" I said "yes" after a few minutes she came back and said, "because of these unusual circumstances, we want to do right by you. We are prepared to bring you out a new one tomorrow." We were delighted. However, just before closing time the girl called back with a "big choice for you and your mom"
Sure enough it was a big choice...do you want one of two dryers that are both used with no warranty? One is an upgrade used for three months the other is the same model but it was used for 11 months and then used as a loaner. No mention was made of the 10 month "warranty" on the machine they sold us. We have agreed to take the upgrade that she said was tested. However we are very very upset and disappointed in this purchase experience. I will be calling to ask about the warranty in the morning after having discussed this with Mom. We will be buying any and every thing we may have purchase at Aaron's elsewhere in the future. What a rip off! My advise is never buy from this business EVER. With the Dryer running for that long the safety of our family was put at risk of fire by this company.
Update : Aaron' did allegedly make this right with us . They are providing us with a new upgraded model with a full warranty.. After this experience however I ill be calling the GE company to make sure there is a warranty.
Update to update... Well it seems this was not an upgraded model. The "upgrade" was to a "new" step down Model. There are less bells and whistles than the one we originally bought used. Mom says this is the same model she was looking at when we first got there. I guess we are going to have to chalk this up to a 200.00 lesson learned. At least so far it is running I was going to give them 5 stars if they actually upgraded to a new "Next level" model. As it ended up that we got what we originally looked at for 200.00 more I think 3 stars is...
Read moreThis was my experience Friday 5/7/21 Mother’s Day weekend. I noticed my refrigerator was not as cold as it should be so we vacuumed out the back hoping when my husband and I got home from work the problem would be fixed. Sadly when we got home it was not. I had my kids coming from 2 states for the weekend so a refrigerator is kind of an important deal. Needless to say we needed a new one, off to town we went. We went to what we thought was the only option left in town, a home improvement retail store. I left so upset after finding out although there are many refrigerators on display they only sell them on order. What are you suppose to do when your appliance goes out and you need one ASAP? As we were leaving my husband and I looked at each other after looking at Aaron’s shrugged and said let’s just look. Well I can tell you now GO TO AARONS! The associates were so kind and helpful. They had just what we needed, loaded it as we were checking out and had it delivered moments after we got home. We were shocked, we live out of town actually on the other side of the river in Washington and have been giving quite the run around in the past by others about delivery. I never had been in the store or thought of them other than a rent to own place but now that I’m aware of how wonderful they are and how helpful they are I told everyone at work. Everyone was so nice and the whole process was effortless, I’m still in a “WOW” moment. I will be back for my future furniture or appliance needs. Thank you Aarons!!!! I...
Read moreThis hands down has absolutely been the most unprofessional experience. I went in gathered all the information I needed to finance some appliances. I work in a business and know how important it is to have all the correct and relevant information. Leah Purkerson the sales manager said I would need to have my husband in to sign off. I completely understand! My husband and I have a very busy schedule so it was hard to get us both in together finally I found the time to go in, I call the store ahead of time and told her we were going to the store and would be in shortly she said no problem we close at 8 o’clock on Friday we showed up at 7:40pm and the store was closed. I had just spoke to her and she knew we were coming. So she also let me know they are open on Saturday until 5pm so we decided to go there today I get off work to make time to do this and we showed up at 4:30pm and again the store is closed. This is really disappointing because we really wanted to do business with them, but they must not be concerned with the quality of service or retaining...
