There are a variety of indoor and outdoor pools at Hellie's TePee Pools and Spa, including water slides indoors and outdoors (I've never seen the outdoor slide open). There is a hot spring "spa" outdoors with a pergola/ shade cover of sorts which is a "no horse play" zone - there are three pools there, one cold, one medium and one which is hotter. The large outdoor pool is lukewarm and seems to be around 3' depth, although it is deeper near the edge at one end. The facility offers NO shade over the outdoor pool, picnic tables, or patio.
Rental towels are $1 and well worth it. Paid lockers are available for $1 with an additional $5 key deposit. I did not see any lockers you could use with your own lock. There are several changing rooms, adequate bathroom facilities, and several showers, which stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body shampoo. I did see at least one ADA-type shower.
The facility has a swimsuit "spinner" they will let you use which gets most of the water out of your suit.
Don't forget your shower shoes and a plastic bag for your wet gear!!!
Be aware, your swimsuit WILL temporarily retain some odor from the mineral water.
The cost of admission gets you in ALL DAY so you can soak, leave and tour the dinosaur center or have lunch, and come back without an additional...
Read moreIm not sure what silver platter these one star posters were born with. Or what super exotic high end spring they went to that entitled them to rip this place apart, "maybe the state level will see this"?! Hahaha. Jeez.
If you are not close to hot springs or rarely visit them, this place is great. Sure their slides are closed, but i dont come to a hot spring for slides (duh).
Their steam room is amazing (that is if youre not expecting pristine seats without a single atom of slime) (best steam room ive been in) the weak spot that had been there in 2023 was fixed in 2025.
I came in on crutches and was suprised at how easy it was to get around. The floors werent slippery and aside from hoses being used to clean the indoor pools, the walk way was clear.
The 3 small outdoor pools are awesome. One of them is hot enough for most sane people. If you want hotter, saratoga has one that ive seen at 119°.
The cold pool is so nice! Easy to transition from hot to cold. (Kept around 76°, which doesnt sound cold but going from 105° to 76°, you can tell).
At night bugs show up (whonwould have thunk?!) so if youre a sissy go back inside around 7pm.
Friendly staff and affordable prices $15 or $12.50 for veteran/senior
Thank you...
Read moreReally wanted to love this place, but when comparing to Star Plunge, this place has some catching up to do! This is my second time visiting Thermopolis and we went to Star Plunge last year, which set the bar high. Anyway, where to start?
Pros - friendly staff! Very kind workers/lifeguards. Nice pools!
Cons - we brought a big group of family to the pool from ages 6 months up to 56 years old. The pools were fun, but going down the slide was a big mistake. Several of us went down, and the slide literally ripped all of our swimsuits. Not only that, it gave us a painful rash on our backs/butts. Going down the slide it literally felt like slivers of fiber glass going into my butt. For those who went down, we had to push our way down the ENTIRE time, including the 8 year old! Only to walk off with rashes and ripped suits. OH, and I can’t forget, the slide literally shaved the hair off the back of my brother-in-laws’ legs…… I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this point. Also the steps were rickety/shaky to one of the pools, you’d think they would have more sturdy steps considering how many elderly patrons they have.
All this to say I hope their neighbor Star Plunge...
