My Story: On a rainy Black Friday evening, I urgently needed a pair of inexpensive sleeping bags, so instead of going to Fred Meyer (which was right across the highway), I visited Tillamook Sporting Goods first.

I was truly delighted to find friendly and competent service, and a choice of good merchandise at a competitive price!

The clerk took time to help me evaluate bags for best value, taking several out of their wrappings for a quick feel, and advising me as a learned friend or neighbor might do.

Besides two bags, I also bought camping pillows, and a pair of cozy fleece jackets, in camouflage color.

Their stock includes camping, boating, hunting, shooting, fishing, clamming, and RV supplies.

The clerk also offered me a 10% Veterans' discount, which really sweetened the experience for me.

My family was on vacation and I went in looking for a surf sock for my husband. When I asked if they had one, I was told "No". When I asked if they knew of someplace that might have one, I was flippantly told "a surf shop". I asked where there might be one. I was told Oceanside. When I asked where that was I was told "over there" with a wave of an arm. When I told him that I was from out of town, I was told to look it up.
