It was 7:45pm and we were all very hungry when we spotted Main Street Pizza while driving down hwy. 101, this dining option appeared good from far, but was far from good. Read on for a glimpse of what we experienced... The Good: staff provided solid service, and the traditional pizza parlor atmosphere with a self serve salad bar, lots of seating and an attached arcade provided the facade of a solid culinary option. The arcade made this an interesting spot and paired with good looking online photos of various pizza options this place appeared to be worth checking out. The not-so-good: 1/3 of the dining area gets cordoned off easily 2 hours before closing, then staff will close the next section of the dining area by 8pm so if you plan on dining in later in the evening you could be clumped (like us) with a multitude of other patrons in a small area. We had 24 people sitting at packed tables next to each other with the rest of the tables in the empty restaurant blocked off. Partially closing 70% of the restaurant by 8pm sends a message 'we dont want you here, we hate to clean, hurry up and leave before we officially close at 9:30pm'. Bathrooms remain locked at all times with signs demanding you close the locked door all the way and 'BATHROOMS FOR PATRONS ONLY' which is a bit strange for a family friendly restaurant. The salad bar shuts down at 8pm and after viewing its status at 7:45pm no one was brave enough to gamble on it. Not the best environment if you want to hold normal conversations but perfect if your group has rowdy kids who need a casual place where they can be as loud as they wanna be. The Bad & Ugly: Their pizza is by far the worst pizza I have ever had, ever. Chinese all-you-can-eat 'pizza' runs circles around what we were served! Decades of trying new restaurants on a regular basis while traveling did not prepare me for the poorest quality food I was about to experience. The pizza crust was a little flakey with little flavor, like it had too much flour and too little yeast. Sauce was thick and tasted stale, multple comments were made objecting how it reminded us of Ragu/Prego canned tomato paste/sauce. We heard neighboring table talking about mediocre taste as well, joking that grocery store frozen red baron or tombstone actually taste better at 10% of the cost. Sadly, this was the worst tasting pizza my family has had from a restaurant on the West Coast. This place does plenty of business which is partly driven by tourism with random restaurant selection I imagine, however I cannot understand why any locals would pay $26 to $42 for a pie that tastes worse than a $5 frozen grocery store pizza. It's unfortunate we selected Main Street Pizza Co. for dinner, the family was greatly dissapointed with the pizza shaped object we struggled to eat did not meet our expectations. McDonalds was sadly a better alternative to Main Street Pizza's total culinary failure. We strongly suggest going elsewhere for decent food, but if you have a pocket full of quarters the arcade might be worth...
Read morePublic announcement to customers who visit main Street Pizza. I hope you don't get harassed by their entire staff. shame on the manager who didn't send her employee home after she aggressively approached a customer she had personal issues with forced them outside to "talk" but actually yelled made a huge scene and threatened to beat him with a 8inch maglight flashlight. There is video proof of her yelling at the customer and accusing him of beating children. When that's not the case at ALL. And to top of off she was clocked in the whole time. It is completely unprofessional and made all the families feel uncomfortable. As they ended up leaving. Mind you, this customer was also with his children at the time. She delayed their order for 45mins. Then, after doing all the this the employee called the police and said the customer harassed her. Failing to mention that she approached him and forced him outside. I hope you all can speak up and get her out from behind the counter as she isn't fit to be upfront serving people, treating them like that. She and the manager on shift claimed that she was protecting the kids in the establishment, but she was the one who made everyone feel uncomfortable. She was the one yelling, causing people to turn and look. She's the one who let her personal issues conflict with her work. The courts already took care of the actions she was approaching the customer on, so she had no business bringing this to the work environment. And not only was it one employee. She had her entire crew around her backing her up not even knowing the situation. Completely unprofessional of them all. Please reconsider spending your money at this establishment as the managers Amy and Deena and april are all standing behind their employees' (Kassie Tew the supposed assistant managers)unprofessional behavior. Prior to this it was publicy announced to the community that these employees also cooked a plastic bottle in a customer's pizza and the customer was the one to discover it rather than the employees (thats up to 3 individuals, he one who made it, the one who said Order up and the one who took it to the table) and it cut the customers mouth. Unfortunately it's the only place in town that serves hot pizza, so if you go just know the staff there could and will do this if they personal issues with you. And no the employee or the managers do not own the bussiness. Not sure if the owners even realize the bad customer service they employee and represents...
Read moreI feel the need to try pizza in nearly every town I go so I decided to give Main Street a shot. I've gained some pretty high standards considering some of the places I've gone prior so I apologize to those that have not had the privilege to try other options. First off, they made my pizza wrong and had to remake it. Asked for no olives and it was made with olives. They asked me if I would like it remade which I said yes. That was very nice of them. The staff overall were very nice young ladies. Most likely high school kids. First thing we got was the salad bar. Not that it's the stores fault but every tomato they had was under-ripe. Must be the season but they were borderline white and not very edible. Other than that it was a typical salad bar with several options. Nothing out of the ordinary. Our first order came and it was the cheese bread. Needless to say that's all it was.. cheese and bread. No flavor, no sauce, just a piece of french bread you get at Safeway and mozzarella on it. It was very bland and flavorless so we didn't even finish. Now for the pizza. My wife got a veggie with extra tomatoes and they seemed to be sarcastic about it even double layering those unripe tomatoes across the whole thing. Very overkill but she did ask for extra :D. I got the combo which arrived 20 minutes later due to being remade. The ingredients were all good except both of our green peppers were very underdone and almost raw. I prefer them cooked a little more. The crust on the other hand, once again, had no flavor, nothing special, just a flour crust with no seasoning or flavor at all. I'm glad i asked for extra sauce too as i saw them making the pizza ahead of time and they go as light as possible from what I could tell. Overall, it was still pizza and it was eaten. Being that there are 3 place in town serving pizza, I could see where this place is popular with locals as it has an arcade and seems to be the family gathering spot. I on the other hand will easily pass as Tillamook is in need of some upgrades to their pizza chains to be compared to some of the other places along the coast. Also, get some mojos and maybe some chicken wings. The options were pretty limited. Getting some spices and zesting up that bread would also be a recommendation. After topping the pizza with Parmesan and red pepper chili flakes, it gave it some spice and flavor which helped...
