Cornerstone Antiques, Consignments & New Home Furnishings — Local services in Timonium

I've been shopping at Cornerstone for the past ten years to furnish my home. I am very conscientious about using sustainable, real wood furnishings in my home and purchasing second hand or consignment when possible. Our bedroom furniture, living room and dining room rugs and china cabinet are all from Cornerstone. The quality are top-notch and the prices were competitive. I get so many compliments on my rugs and when I tell people I got them at consignment they are amazed. One of the best features is that they post new and in-stock items as the inventory changes. I think their "want list" is brilliant. The only advice I have is to purchase something if you want it immediately. There are some items, like a needlepoint Maryland Hunt artwork that I still wish I had just bought! I do wish they still had their "white glove" delivery service, which came to Alexandria several times a month. Now you have to organize deliveries with a third party. I really loved the professionalism and care of their own in-store delivery team. I just purchased 20 Waterford Lismore tall glasses so they do have more than furniture! I was told a piece of furniture would be held for me till 12 noon the following day. I was very interested in buying it. But apparently the persons with authority overruled the sales person I talked with and held it for someone else. They tried to convince me that I should have called by 10 a.m. to hold it. That they neglected to tell me and had already said they would hold it till noon. Then they said that the sales person should never have agreed to hold it. But nonetheless, the promise had been made to me first. The persons in authority, however, relied on their supposed rules to take the piece and hold it for someone else who did buy it. So I made the trip for nothing, a 35 minute trip there and a 35 minute trip back. I have bought thousands of dollars of furniture here. I just want to say thank you to the owner, the staff, and the kind men who helped me purchase my dresser. Had never been to this store before and the owner immediately approached me and let me know the history of this store. Then explained how the purchases worked. He also provided several moving vendors to use if I needed one. All of their pieces are carefully selected and all them are just stunning. The prices are incredibly fair as well. I had 2 very helpful guys put the dresser in my truck. They were gentle to make sure not to damage my car or the dresser. I don't think I would be able to go to any other furniture store after being at this one.
