Nalley Fresh — Restaurant in Maryland

I visited this location today to take a vantage of the their Tuesday special, the buy one, get one. I told the young lady before I placed my order that I would like the two-for-one and chose those to be two salads and she said nothing in response as she was clearly tired and unenthusiastic about her job. The entire time as she prepared my food her performance was sloppy. I asked for two eggs per salad and per usual an egg slicer is used to cut the eggs proportionately, but she couldn’t find it so she used a random knife from the counter behind her (only God knows if it had previously been on the floor or had any type of contaminates upon it) and quite rudely she cut the eggs in her hands as she spoke hostilely to her coworkers in Spanish. I can only assume that due to my casual appearance and maybe even my race, she gathered that I would not understand her conversation between them, but unfortunately for her, Spanish is my second language.

Upon checking out, I was informed that the two-for-one special was no longer. Instead of gifting the salad to keep a happy customer or perhaps for the inconvenience the cashier informed me that they’d trash it or simply take it home to eat.

I’m not sure how the management team operates here as I haven’t encountered them, but I can speak for the customer service that I’ve received multiple times at this location and it’s despicable. Tonight was the last time that I’d allow myself to tolerate this type of energy from such lousy staff.

This is the first time I have ever left a bad review for any Nalley Fresh location even this location I have been to several times. First of all, the manager was rude and not attentive of my complaint and ignored what I said. I am pregnant and do not need high level of stress. One of the employees was not patient and I saw him roll his eyes and actually was getting impatient when I would tell him how I wanted my mom and I's order. I asked the manager why he didn't say anything or ask me what happened as I told him I didn't feel comfortable with that employee. He proceeded to say he is taking it all in. Also, this location is always not clean tables still dirty! They staff seemed irritated to come and have to clean the table. I also noticed the manager speaking to other people I guess he is friends with? He went to their table 3 or 4 times. That makes me feel disrespected as he never came to check if everything with us was okay and I guess maybe because I am the only black person here could that be a reason too that my concerns or me as a human being doesn't matter to him? Or what your intimated by me because I am black? I am outraged! How is this guy a manger here? I have never ever experience this at Nalley Fresh before. Despicable. If it wasn't the manager on duty who made the comment I probably wouldn't be taking the time to review. It was an unforgettable experience. 9/27/17 was my first and last time visiting. I was new to the concept, and it took a second to figure it all out. I ordered a salad, double protien, egg upcharge, avacado upcharge, and loaded on the vegetables and toppings as I was offered. It was a big salad, but also an expensive one. The manager was at the end. He offered bread as he boxed up other customers' salads in front of me. When it was my turn no bread was offered. No big deal. He then began putting masking tape on the box. It seemed a bit excessive, but I thought it was simply procedure. That was until he turned to the lady next to him and in Spanish said "asi que le de verguenza". How incredibly insulting. Obviously he had no idea I spoke Spanish. His quip basically translated to he was putting on a bunch of tape so that I would feel ashamed of loading up the toppings on the salad. The lady he was speaking with remained professional.
