I would not recommend The GA DDS located in Toccoa. It is a terrible DDS. It is very hard to locate and the staff are very rude and crude. The facility is below par for a State facility. There is a sign that states, âwait here until calledâ. It was necessary to stand in line and wait. This is not possible for persons with health standing issues to stand for long periods of time. We were standing in line waiting for a long time and told the clerk that we needed I sit down and would be sitting right here when our time came to be served. The next person called was a person standing in line behind us. We objected and the young, snooty, know-it-all, DDS clerk actually reprimanded us for sitting down. Of course, when we were called, the same, young, snooty DDS clerk âhad issuesâ with a birth certificate and would not accept it. She gave it to her supervisor for examination. He made his decision not based on anything except âit didnât look rightâ? No plausible explanation, nothing. We explained that this same birth certificate was acceptable for induction into the US Military, Passport, Medicare, SSA, and for driver licenses in 5 other states INCLUDING a previous Georgia license but they would not accept it in the Toccoa DDS. The best part is this, we drove to another DDS location and within 10 minutes we had our GA Drivers licenses using the same birth certificate rejected in Toccoa. We asked the new DDS if there was anything wrong the birth certificate and the clerk said no. It was old but it was a valid birth certificate with the proper imprints...
Read moreGreat experience. Joyce is the kind lady at counter number 1 who basically triages all of the incoming customers. Since the inside of the office is constructed of all hard surfaces, there is a lot of echo in the place, especially when there are lots of customers all trying to figure out what to do, where to go, etc. So I think some of the other reviewers that mentioned a lady âshouting at everyoneâ they are overly sensitive to the fact that with the glass Covid barriers still up, the automated take-a-number system calling out numbers constantly, and the general noise and echo in this place, Joyce has no choice but to raise her voice to be heard above all the chaos. She is actually very friendly and helpful particularly if youâve done your part before visiting the office by carefully reading all online instructions, filling out the application properly, and bringing ALL of your required documents with you. If in doubt about a particular document, bring it anyway just in case! Yolanda was my examiner and she was also very friendly and helpful. I brought all correct documents which made check-in and prep for my skills test a breeze. These workers have to directly deal with more of the general public than most of us will in a lifetime. So you can make things go smoothly by doing your part (bring ALL your documents and fill out the online application!) before showing up and youâll be in and out quickly and painlessly. Thank you to Joyce and Yolanda for a...
Read moreTERRIBLE! I went to take my Road Test. I waited in the lobby for almost 2 hours!! Finally I get in the car with this black woman named (Yolonda) .. SHE WAS SO RUDE! She was yelling at me the whole time.. I messed up and went left and she said "Lord! You can't do this!" And also told my mother once I got back that I can't do it. She also said while driving "Your not listening to me! Turn right!!!! Jesus! Listen." Me being super emotional of course that made me cry. I was trying to explain to her that I had terrible anxiety and she would talk over me and say (I can make you an appointment in Gainesville) She didn't care about what she said! She kept saying "You need to calm your nerves." Well lady, this is what anxiety is. If you weren't yelling at me I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SCARED. Somehow, someway this rude lady gave me a second chance..đŹ I passed the second time. I just had to totally block her rudeness out. Still the second try she would laugh and make fun of the way other people drove on the square. I came to toccoa from Gainesville hoping it would have less people. Now I wish I had just went to Gainesville. This lady was...
