This past Labor Day weekend on Sunday, September 4th my family and I visited Shea’s Furniture after unsuccessfully finding something I liked at Value City Furniture. Prior to my visit, I reviewed their website and found a sectional couch that I liked. When I went into the store they did not have this model and I was told by the associate that they’d have to order it. This wasn’t an issue for me because I really liked the piece and was okay with waiting the 1-2 weeks for it to arrive. Now, online the piece that I wanted is listed 4 separate times. Two listings state 2-piece sectional for $899.95 and two others with 3-pieces for $1,149.95. Now, in the listings for both the 2-piece and 3-piece shows a 3-piece sectional pictured. In store I showed the associate the listing and we confirmed that the 3-piece in the picture is what I wanted which indicates a longer and shorter side to the sectional. The associate confirms she has the right numbers and even consulted the other gentleman that was in store. In the back as they were talking, it appeared that there was some confusion but I overheard them say that if that’s what was online for the $899.95 price then it must be correct. So, we complete my order, I pay for tax and delivery and all is set. She informs me that they will place the order Monday or Tuesday because of the holiday. Tuesday comes and she calls me that morning and tells me that there was a mix up and the company they place their orders through says that the sectional that is pictured is not $899.95 but has a third piece to it and if I want that sectional, I would have to pay an additional $250. I ask her why would they have a 3 pieces pictured if its incorrect and she says to me that she was confused by that as well. I proceed to ask her if there is any way that they can honor the pricing since its obviously a mix up on their end with what they have listed online that even she was confused by it and she told me that they couldn’t get around it. I asked if she could check again to see what could be done and I’d call back. I called her back and she tells me that the only thing they could do after talking to her boss was refund me $60 for delivery although I’d still have to pay $250 for the sectional that I want. I asked for a refund instead. I absolutely can’t believe that Shea’s Furniture would rather lose a first-time customer over a $250 error on their end instead of honoring what was advertised. I would never consider making a purchase from Shea’s again. It’s a shame when you want to support local businesses but this is how you’re treated. They call you back after making a purchase in full and ask you for more money. Now, I will say that the associate who worked with me (Darci) was extremely kind and empathetic throughout this process. She agreed with me and felt it was unfair but the decision was not up to her. For that I have no issues with her service but overall as a company, I feel that their customer service is less than stellar. It’s...

Read morePurchased a four hundred dollar sofa. My son bought one at Value City same color and style. I did not think there would be a difference. This store was close to where I live so that is why I bought it. It is one year and one month old and worn out little or no support. My son's sofa is very firm and still has lots of support. If my sofa was over ten years old, it would make sense. I can not comment on any of the more expensive furniture but this one is bad. The bed we bought is ok not comfortable but firm and we paid about four hundred. We were told this was top of the line for the lower end on beds. The dressers are pretty and also inexpensive and after using them for a year the drawers are too small in depth. I wish I had paid attention when I purchased them. That is not their fault but mine. I bought an end table and that I like but the table lamp has a blemish in the shade I did not notice at the store. The delivery guys are 5 stars!!!! Bottom line maybe in this store you have to pay a lot more to get...
