AWESOME!! This business is a throwback to the old days when a local business gave you QUALITY, GOOD PRICE, SMILES WHEN YOU WALKED IN, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. I know that this is shocking - really customer service?? Can it be- No India, No China, No Philippines, No whatever?? Someone who actually speaks American English; cant be. I know I was as shocked as you are reading this. The amazing part is yet to come. After ordering a queen mattress and box spring from JC Penney's on November 12, 2021 with a promised I will be contacted after December 8th to schedule my delivery I decide to buy it. (realizing full well I am probably over paying and should shop more or just buy it from Costco but I wanted to give the business to JCP in hopes in my small way I could save JCP from its eventual demise- stupid me. There is a reason why this company is struggling. I found it. They don't call or show!! Now I go to my Chiroprator, appoitment. Dr. Rob from Family First Chiropractic in Toms River is stuck listing to me tell this totally unbelievably lack of customer service by JCP .
STOP, and read this unbelievable response. Dr. Rob says, I know the owner of Mr. Mattress and they are great people and I refer alot of my patients to him. I think he can help you - now listen to this - Dr. Rob picks up the phone and calls them. He does get right through to the owners; one of them, Ed says to him something like send me right over after my appointment. WHAT?? Someone who actually cares and wants to help. Now this is Tues. Dec 7th just a few hours after my JC Penney's mattress and box spring was to be delivered. Real impressive!! Dr Rob says to me that Ed and Donna have agreed to give me the special pricing he gives to Dr. Rob's client referrals.
NOW let us recap - screwed by JCP no delivery of my long awaited queen mattress and box spring. No bed in my room and some guy, Ed from Mr. Mattress wants to try and help. Is this real? A business man who might care?
I go over and meet both Donna and Ed from Mr. Mattress of Toms River, NJ who are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Within the hour, I have purchased a great priced and feeling good (I was allowed to lay on the mattress and box spring until I found the one I liked.)queen mattress, box spring and new stronger rails. Are you listening - Ed says I can have it to your house by 10am tomorrow and installed. Say what? A lifeline?? Damn if Ed doesn't do everything he said he would. BY 10:30 am on Wednesday, Dec. 8th I am sleeping on it to test my freshly installed mattress, box spring, rails and all for about the same price I was going to pay JCP.
Holly shit, real customer service still exists!! Not only that the next day I go back to Thank Ed and Donna; but instead say I had a complaint. The complaint was that Mr. Mattress had set the bar so high for customer service I would never ever be able to accept less or match it. Truly Ed and Donna had to be heaven sent - well actually Dr. Rob sent!!
Now for the end, do you NEED someone like Mr. Mattress or Ed and Donna in your life probably not BUT do you WANT someone like Mr. Mattress and Ed & Donna in your life. HELL YES.

I purchased a king set and once I got it at home it was so much softer then I realized (or just different from floor model). They also delivered it with the low profile box spring which I did not ask for and did not want being itâs about an inch lower then my bed frame. I went back and spoke to Eddie and he was extremely accommodating saying he would give me the credit towards a new bed and pick it up for $50. I was okay with this since felt a bit responsible for not picking the right bed. I chose a much âhigher quality bedâ paid the difference and was told it would take a few weeks to have it made and when they brought it they would make sure to have the higher box spring this time. The bed was delivered while I was at work and I could tell by my wifeâs tone something was up. I kept an open mind and once I was home excitedly jumped into the new bed!!!! I could not believe what I was feeling. Like a rock! Not only was it a COMPLETELY different feel it had the SAME low box spring. NOT the new low profile box spring the SAME one from the previous set. My wife explained that they brought the wrong box spring for the new bed and instead of using a new box spring with the same profile they were just going to leave the old one and bring back the new higher box spring. After months of calling I finally gave up. I was told the new bed would break in, in the mean time we will get you a mattress topper and that will fix the problem until then. Months later I have a bed that I can not sleep on, can not make (literally scraping knuckles on the bed frame when putting sheets on) and donât sleep on. Once MAYBE twice a week my wife and I will sleep together in it. Otherwise I am in the spare bedroom which is disappointing at best. After the back and forth I finally gave up. I still donât have the box spring I paid for nor ever heard anything else about my mattress topper. I have gone in on different occasions to lay on the floor model to make sure my wife and I are not insane because it feels like it at times. I couldnât imagine getting a bed this uncomfortable. I called and spoke to someone once (donât remember his name, bigger gentleman) and asked âis there any chance in variations between the same mattress because itâs not at all what I was expecting. Itâs so bad I have to sleep in the spare bedroom.?â His response âMaybe itâs just youâ I laughed and said thanks for your time.

It is family owned an ran and they are they absolute nicest, helpful, caring people I have ever met in the sales industry. They go above and beyond to make anyone who walks in happy and content with their purchase. They are all extremely knowledgeable and patient and extremely honest about the different types of beds and the quality of each as well as the pros ans cons.
