Today was my first visit inside Ozark Sportsman Supply. I’ve lived in the area for over two decades and have been hearing wonderful things about it in the last few years. Here’s one more story for the community...
My father-in-law and I walked in the front doors this afternoon to see a beautifully made coffee and pastry bar 10 feet in front of us. We couldn’t proceed any further until we tried their coffee and started our experience off right. We were helped and the store team member made two delicious coffee beverages for us rather quickly. Yum!
Then the shopping began. My father-in-law is always looking for a trendy apparel outfitter no matter what state or town he is in. He said no less than 20 times, “I love this place”, “this is my kind of place”... He bought several things .
Here’s where the magic started...I was watching our little girl who is 1 year old run around laughing while all the members of the store were very kind to her. She wasn’t a havoc or being a demon...she was filled with pure happiness in this store. At one point she took a hat off that we wanted her to try on so we could have another stocking stuffer for her, when she turned around and landed on her frontside and started to cry a little. Mommy picked her up quickly and she was fine. We continued shopping. When we came out of the fitting room there was a man and a woman standing there with a gift bag looking at our daughter. The man asked “Can we give her a gift?” It’s one of those moments you can spot a mile away filled with radiating human kindness and pure goodness. We said jokingly and yet truthfully, “Yes. You may have to set it down and let her walk to it. She’s been practicing with opening fake gifts at home to get ready for Christmas morning.” She walked to bag and pulled out a Warmies Giraffe. We thanked them immediately. I looked at the gentleman and asked if he worked here and he smiled and shook his head in a “I kinda do” way. Which I then asked, “Are you the owner?” He had the same smile and nodded his head up and down.
The conversation went many directions after this. We couldn’t stop talking about all the things we had seen in the store and were excited about and he even gave us passes to come back to the shooting range for free. real excited about this!
Our experience today was one that you would find out of town on vacation, in a movie, or on a stage during Christmas time. But yet, it happened right here in our hometown. At a place I had driven by for two decades wanting to visit, and a place that is now less than a half-mile from our house. Before I walked in my Christmas list had zero items on it that I personally wanted. When I left....it was completely filled.
This may all sound sappy. This may all sound like concentrated mushy Hallmark stuff. It is. It was the real version of every feeling from every one of those made-for-tv movies. This place is where stories like that come from.
Thank you to each team member at this store and the owner. You made us feel the magic today of pure human kindness and joy. We love your store, your culture, and we are sorry it took us two decades to walk through your door. We will be back.

Read moreThe TLDR: Would give 0 stars if I could. Worst experience that I've ever had in a store. Avoid at all costs if you're a first time gun buyer.
I have never purchased a gun before. I've had some gun handling experience, but never owned one of my own. So, I called the store, explained my situation and ordered a pistol that I liked. They instructed me to come down to the store to pay for the gun and fill out some stuff. I did as instructed, was guided to a little kiosk where I entered my address and information. They took my money and said they would call when it was ready. A couple days later, I get a call and I go to pick up my pistol. I hand the gentleman my ID and he explains that I can't have the gun I've already paid for. See, I just moved and didn't realize that you can't purchase a pistol from out of state. So I ask if I can have my money back, to which I am told "no". "So, I can't have my money back and I can't have the pistol I paid for? What am I supposed to do?" I asked. At this point, he claims that I must have used a FAKE ID to reserve and pay for the firearm. WHY WOULD I DO THAT AND THEN USE A REAL ID TO PICK IT UP?!?! Anyway, I get robbed and called a criminal for my trouble. They have made it my problem to find a gun dealer in my state to have then ship it to at MY EXPENSE. This whole thing would have been avoided had they ID'd me properly in the first place. Had I known, I would have just found a gun store in my state. But they wanted my money more than they wanted their own integrity. Go...
Read moreOzark sportsman is a outdoor store with a variety of outdoor equipment. They also have several amenities in addition to the store.
There is a really nice indoor gun range here at outdoor sportsman. They provide complementary hearing protection and targets (five small targets or silhouettes). The Staff are friendly and helpful. It is not too expensive to rent a lane and have fun or hone your skills). There is both a rifle range and a pistol range. The targets are clipped onto a movable track and can be set in 5 yard intervals from 5 yards to 25 yards.
If you haven’t tried axe throwing, it is a blast. Outdoor sportsman has a fun indoor axe throwing range and they provide a variety of axes (size and weight). You get the lane for an hour and can throw axes nonstop for that full duration.
They also have an indoor archery range. I did not try it out so I can not comment on it other than to say if their other areas are any indication, it is probably really nice.
I think they also provide some simulated games like golf, frisbee golf, and ping pong. I did not try theses either but they sound fun.
If you purchase a membership, use of the gun range, archery, and axe throwing are included and are not an...
