Gamers HQ is my favorite video game store that sells every era/time period of gaming. The store buys/sells everything from new releases to retro video games. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about the products sold in the store and will research to find the correct answer. The store has an area for playing video games but I can't give an evaluation on that service because I've never used it before. The area looks rather nice with plenty of stations for playing video games. The area looks like the type of place that a party might be held. I'd talk to the store about renting it for a party and maybe they do that sort of thing. This is just my impression. At the time of this writing, Gamers GQ gives a $10 credit for buying titles the day of release. I've actually used this credit to "buy" games for FREE...Is that cool or what? I like supporting small business because the business is beneficial for the community so the fact that Gamers HQ makes buying from them easy is good for everyone. The store also buys games and will give the usual more money in store credit and less overall in cash. If the store has something you want trade-ins are a great option. Especially, since selling on eBay is a overall headache. Gamers HQ has a good retro stock and all the new games so trade ins are a good option to get that game you are interested in playing. The store hours range from 11am-7pm on the weekdays and 12pm-5pm on the weekends. This is my only negative part of the review yet I also understand the reasoning. Or I'm guessing the reasoning for such small amount of hours. The store is basically open for a sift that a person would normally work. So for the store to stay open longer the store would probably have to hire more employees and that gets into a juggling act of product sold for wages paid. This is solely a guess, but I suspect that the hours opened are perfect for the general public shopping hours. Now I understand that the store closes at 7pm yet many times have shown up at 7:30pm or later and realized that the store was closed. So I'd honestly want to store to close at 9pm or even later. Read moreThis kinda hurts to post...because at first ive glorified this store and the settings...glorified it and spent hundreds and referred others who spent money in that store. Well i recently went through a messy break up and had to part ways with one of my consoles. Usually when i bring anything in its a pleasurable and simple transaction. This time the friendly vibes were not there. Unbeknownst to me my bitter ex had made certain moves and mad that i was done with a toxic situation and upset about my secret departure made a totally false claim which was proven true with documentation and receipts that i unlawfully took my playstations that i purchased when i left. I tried to sell the model that was in the best condition to help with mw relocating and was met and treated as a thief by of all people the owner of the store. Really hurt my feelings in an already hard process i was dealing with. Im sure there were better ways to handle the situation. But i was treated as some sneaky thief and that is something ibe never been. I dont know what or who to blame on this but the ex girlfriend but ive always felt slightly overlooked in the enviroment i always wanted to be apart of. So therefore i would not reccomend this store due to the treatment i recieved. Read moreI live out of state and during the holidays I dropped off a PS4 for a deep clean. I was unable to pick it up before I left so I reached out to Gamers HQ and they were willing to ship it for an additional cost which was no problem. They told me my item would be shipped as soon as I paid the invoice which I did right away. A week later, I still hadn’t receive any update or my console so I reached out to the store and was told they would be in contact with shipping information and an update. The next day goes by and nothing so I call again and now am being told my console still hasn’t shipped and don’t have any reason as to why. They assured it would be shipped out the next day, next day comes and still no update so I call again and all they said is the item has shipped but they can’t provide me with a tracking number and the employee on the phone said the owner Caleb told him to tell me he was too busy to speak with me and too busy to get me a tracking number. I always had a good experience with Gamers HQ but this completely changed the way I feel about that store.
Update: I just received my console and wanted to update my review score because the work that was done is top notch. My PS4 used to sound like a jet engine for every game and now I just hear a soft humming noise. I’m sending the PS4 to Central America where the humidity gets pretty bad and was worried about it overheating down there. I have better peace of mind now.
