Spangles — Restaurant in Topeka

The fries were cold, hard, and they had over shook the amount of garlic & parmesan flavoring on fries, and I requested very light with that seasoning. The burgers were hard around the edges on both sides and on all the burgers, like they had been sitting a while. Definitely was not freshly made. Drive thru employee(s) was very short, unpleasant to me, and rushing me to give them my payment. Both were irritated that I wanted to give them my phone number for the rewards program. Neither employee thanked me. Nope! I'm pretty sure they was the manager westing a blue shirt who didn't even raise a brow with their rudeness in handling my order and my payment. Spangles on SW 21st, SW Wanamaker, and SE 29th, all need a good brush up or origi training course in manners and customer service using pleasantries. I'd send all their cooks to Home Ec ,& Beg Cooking Course 101, AGAIN. PURCHASE THE EXTENDED LONG COURSE FOR THEM, as the quality of the food, especially after it's prepared, has flopped enormously. I can't rate any if these three Spangles location average or above, as they are not. I say it's pushing it giving them 2 outa 5. A score of 1.5 could...

I came here a couple of nights ago for a quick evening meal. Ordered the basic 1/3 lb burger and fries. I should mention that their menu has a lot of options; much more than most fast food places.

The food was ready very quickly and everything tasted good. The burgers were about what you'd expect ... not extremely flavorful, but they were good. Better than McD's, in my opinion, about on par with Burger King (which I like). Fries were nice and crispy. Portion sizes were ample. The lettuce, pickles and everything on the burger was top notch. Prices were about what you'd expect, as well.

All in all a decent meal. Burgers could have been a bit more flavorful. The burgers seem like they have some filler in them, but you can't always tell.

I'd give this place 4/5; good food, nothing I'd go out of my way to get. Still, I'd pick this place over McDonald's, Wendy's or BK.

I love the decor, by the way. The music and the 50's diner feel make it worth going to for something a little different...

I have been to this Spangles many times in my lifetime and have always enjoyed it. However, today was unacceptable. Me and my family went through the drive-thru and ordered 7 cones. Plain and simple. The Manager of this store (yes the manager) said that she couldn’t do that because she was the only one working, and it would be too difficult. As we drove by, we noticed several workers working. When we called the store, she picked up and said she was the manager. She said it would be quote “too difficult” and that “it would take too long.” She also said that they would melt because she couldn’t hold them all. Any person with common sense would realize that a customer is willing to wait and that no one person could hold seven cones.
