My husband and I have been shopping there for years. We went in after not being there for several months and loved the updates. Found what we wanted...a nice heavy (according to my husband) peice of furniture and headed to check out. We were informed they 'no longer offer layaway as they have in the past, the new owners do not support it'. With all the beautiful items that we have bought this way (and on time), I am sorry to say this store will only be a last resort if that, after all other options are entertained. This is disheartning as I know The 'old fashioned way' of doing business even at Wheatlands is now in the past. My husband and I are very disappointed with this change. It is easy to fall in love with something in there, but if you plan on buying any furniture, bring $100-$500 minimum if you are looking for a nice piece. Read moreI think this is a horrible place. I bought something from this store and they stole 20 dollars from me. I paid the woman at the register and she gave a receipt showing 20 dollars less then what I have her. And they kept trying to make think I still owed them 20 dollars. When I said, no I don't owe 20 dollars, that the woman counted my money wrong, an older man working there started yelling and slamming his hand on the counter. Like he was crazy. Then he got in my face and started threatening me and daring me to do something. I felt like something was wrong with him. Make sure you get a receipt before you give them the money.
