This experience was frustrating and negative from start to finish. My child wanted to do their birthday party here so I inquired about the process. It took them a very long time to reply to my emails asking about the best room and how to buy tickets when I was waiting for the RSVPs. As a result of their lack of response the times we wanted and preferred room was gone. Due to no tesponse from the owner for multiple days I went ahead and bought all the tickets and picked a room based on size since I didnt get a response. I ended up picking a room that was for 4-8 participants even though it wasnt the escape room we wanted. After all that confusion the physical space itself was definitely not big enough for everyone and one of the children attending started having a panic attack as a result. I also ended up paying for a spot that wasn't used because I had not gotten a response on the process and they were not willing to give credit for a different visit (I was not even asking for a refund). The actual activity was dismal--the clues themselves were not well thought out and the individual monitoring the game was not paying attention so the kids sat there waiting for help. The clues they did receive were confusing and the person seemed unsure how to help. So I paid nearly 200 dollars for an experience that was scary and frustrating and the kids did not enjoy. The room was not appropriate for the size of the group or age of the group. I would recommend you go to an escape room in Kansas City. They are in larger rooms, better monitored, more responsive and appropriate for a...
Read moreWe’ve gone twice and enjoyed both rooms we went in, the Poe themed and Chaotic Classroom. The clues were challenging and we had fun trying to solve them. The only drawback is the second time we brought our kids and had to pay for our two year old, who sat on my or my husband’s lap watching YouTube or nursing the whole time. $27 for him not even having the cognitive ability or height to reach clues was pretty crummy. But we live over an hour away and if one of us adults didn’t do it we would still lose the money since we paid ahead for the other 5 in our group. We originally paid over $125 for the room so you’d think a toddler spectating could just be...
Read moreI have experienced 30+ escape games in different places across the US, and this place fell a bit flat for me. The owners are nice, but the design, staging, and props were not as polished as I would expect. I can't get into any details without giving away the game. It was the 7-year-old's first time in an escape game and he loved it. If you haven't been to one before, you will likely be quite pleased. However, for the rest of us, we were disappointed compared to the rest of our experiences. I'm glad Topeka has an option, but I'd really like this place to update and improve the location/games as much...
