Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Topeka

I am done with dairy queen! It was good in 2018-2019, but since I quick dairy queen every time I get their food ots always messed up. No matter what it is. It could be a simple icecream to the food. They will always mess up!!! It doesnt help that it happens every time I go there to. It's a bit frustrating. Plus if you choose to do dine in be prep for 30 to an hour wait to just get your food. When I went for dine in once I had to wait 36 min and got frustrated and looked back where they make the food and set the food down when it's done. And my food was there. The employees were just chatting away not giving a care in the world. I understand if you missed it if you were in a rush, but 35 min wait for something that's simple as a couple chicken tenders is simple dumb! I had to speak to the manager to get my food. I remember working there and when an employee noticed you work their even, though it's your day off, they will make you take your own order and make your own food. Good thing that doeesnt happen to me anymore, but now I wish it does now because now they cant get anything right. They need serious training or simple tell their employees to look at the screen that displays the order and just look at it twice to make sure your doing it right! My family stopped by this DQ tonight for just 2 items. A strawberry cheese cane blizzard and a fudge sundae with extra fudge. There was no one in front of or behind us in the drive thru, and very few cars in the parking lot. So not busy at all.

We waited in the drive thru, by the window, after ordering, for 8-10 minutes before anyone even came to take our payment. We could SEE our ice cream sitting at the window, just melting. While we could also SEE the employees just standing around or talking or running in circles without actually accomplishing anything.

When we finally got it handed to us, my husband's was barely mixed and my sundae didn't have the extra fudge at all. ON TOP of them being nearly all melted. We were in a hurry, so we didn't turn around to fix it immediately.

Then, I come to read reviews of this particular DQ (both on Yelp and Google) and all the owner seems to have to say is, "I'm sorry for a bad experience. We hope you will give us a try again." No incentive. No showing/telling that the issue would be resolved or dealt with. Just a statement to save face and make it seem like they care.

I'll just pay extra for Coldstone's from now on. I don't want to support the DQs in this area at all, incase they are all owned by the same person....

When on national burger day and Did a mobile order but when picking it up had to give them the whole order and customizations all over again as like they couldn't even see the order other than my name, was pretty ridiculous and very time consuming, I know the people in the huge line behind us were not happy and were getting very agitated and some even looked furious! But what could I do . Not my fault I ordered and paid through the app. Shame on you Dairy Queen for trying to get us beat up! The food how ever was very good although the portion sizes were ridiculously small. I had and I kid you not 8 fries total in regular size fry that my meal deal included. They were not big fries either. Was maybe half the size of a happy meal fries order at Mcdonalds. Very lacking for the price. The ratio was off on their fountain drinks as well as both of our were very weak with very little syrup in them like they needed to change the syrup boxes because they were out and on 2 different flavors the cola and the rootbeer. Need some older more responsible folks worken in there with those kids that were there that night because they didn't seem to know what they were doing OR care either. Currently its Definitely not worth the price...
