After throwing my lower back out the day before I almost did my typical move which was to book some time with a masseuse but then I remembered reading an article about 'Floating Therapy'. Everytime I get the massage in these cases it feels painfully good at the time but afterwards, ouch!!
This time around I thought lets try it? -
I was greeted by a young man by the name of 'Dorian'. Dorian did an excellent job explaining the whole process to me, he mentioned he had a similar situation with his back and that after even one session this really helped him. During and after this conversation I was feeling even more assured that I was at the right place at the right time, isn't amazing how the universe works? So did it help me? What I can attest to is that yes, my back was feeling much, much better, and a day later (today) my muscles seem to be recovering waaaay way faster then past experiences compared to massages. I'm addressing my back only but for most of us I think there are even better benefits for our brains which are non stop with all the distractions and noise... this gives us a fast track to getting grounded in a unique environment that most of us can't possibly replicate at home, unless you're well off of course.
still can't decide? keep reading... For those of you thinking about if they should try this or not I can give you some advice I think that would be very helpful.
First off, an epsom salt treatment is very helpful for your body, this isn't anything new. I confirmed it really works, if you just go through the process
Secondly, the 'meditative' experience was amazing 'for me' and this is truly for me the #1 benefit. If you already meditate I think you will get hooked right away. If you don't I can see and understand why there would be mixed feelings here because getting into a meditative state isn't easy for beginners and you have 90 min's of floating in pure darkness and zero sound (which is the point)! My wife for example probably won't have the same experience as me because she presently doesn't meditate. So... 'If' you find yourself thinking thoughts (any) just start over & try concentrate on your breathing, this would be a great opportunity to practice this basic meditation technique. Even if you can't do this, just relaxing every muscle in your body floating on top of this beneficial solution should be worth it even if your mind wanders off.
Thirdly, I literally felt like I was floating in space, this alone makes me want to return which I am today but not for this reason alone. If one can't fork a million $$$ to float a few minutes on a Blue Origin space flight then this will do the trick for me.

Read moreI have never experience this level of relaxation in my life ... I’m a hairstylist on my feet all day and have always had trouble with neck and back pain because of this . I have a hard time shutting off my brain and finding peace both mentally and physically because my everyday life is so stimulating. I was worried about being still and deprived of my senses for 90 minutes until I set foot in the floating tank. I layed down in the water and instantly popped up and felt weightless relaxation like I’ve never experienced. My head and neck were completely supported by the water so those muscles that never get to take a break were instantly relieved. I was shocked to find that my mind didn’t wonder or race with thoughts like it usually does .. I was not antsy to be done like I am with massage or any other appointments. For the first time my mind was at peace and all I could think about was how amazing I felt. I did not want the time to end. I felt great after and had a clear mind and natural energy for the first time in months... I want to go back today ! I would highly recommend this...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience! Everything is nice and clean, you have your own shower in the room and the floating room is nice and specious, not like any of those little coffins some other places have. Shower, and just close the door, sink in, and let the water carry you like a little baby, floating in a space, weightless, sightless, noiseless... focusing your mind on shutting down all the constant chatter in your head and focusing on your own breath and sensations in your own body,.... leaving all the stress and worries behind. Mind blowing trip to your own consciousness. 90 minutes goes by fast once you get the hang of it and especially if you have some previous experience with some kind of meditation from before. Some Buddhist's monks go to the caves for months to meditate, I am super happy with 90 minutes of floating session with just me, myself and I! The Floating clinic will help you to get different perspectives about everything and you walk out refreshed and relaxed . Can't beat that for $45/90 min. Worth every penny! I...
