Summit Labs TCG — Local services in Torrance

Very poor selling practices and not honest. Placed preorder for a large dollar amount for us atleast at 3k and summit requested full cash payment upfront. Which is understandable in some cases and this was over a month prior to set release.

Then Mitchell raises the price 1 time after price was already agreed upon and then tries to raise again after it was paid for.

We also purchased here because we were told we would be able to pick up the order 1 week earlier than release and worst case scenario Friday before release date. Ended up being almost a week after set release date.

Time passes and we can’t get ahold of anyone at the store. We end up finally getting in contact with 2 of the employee and they have no idea what’s going on with the orders, has a poor attitude and offers store credit! I did not accept that route.

Finally they get product in, I am the first person there to pick up, I get shorted 66-75% of my preorder when they have all the product and then the store holds the product. They do not release or fulfill all the preorders because the price has gone up on the set already and they continue to sell it in store for 50% over to double msrp for the upcoming weeks

Just shady, dishonest and not fulfilling preorders when they were paid for in cash a month+ ahead of time is very poor sales practice. Considering contacting the BBB.

After store left me a voicemail today 2.18.25 update everything is legitimate as I do have voicemail from his employee offering store credit prior to the return from a Japan trip they were on. I was also removed from the discord “community” YES! But it was because I posted my YouTube link! It was not for being rude or disrespectful to his employees as I just did not know you could not self promote. So who is being dishonest here really? I was also sent pictures to purchase a card from the shop after the preorder incident and just before the removal from discord. So I was rude or dis respectful but still wanting to sell me until the self promote link on discord? The store itself looked nice. The selection was great. However, the owners seemed to focus more on their regulars than new customers. As we walked in, we had no idea who was in charge or how the store operated. The owner came to us later and informed us of how it worked. We were able to check out binders and the card walls. The pricing out process was long. It took a long time to have our stacks priced out. As we were waiting for the prices of the cards, a tournament was starting. The owner left us and began to have conversations with the regulars and then diverted her attention to the tournament. We were waiting for 20 minutes to be charged and head our way. However, the tournament took priority. We waited and realized we were not going to be checked out. As we went to the owner, we were told to wait even more time since the tournament took priority. We decided to leave because at that point we felt it was not worth it. We were also informed the prices were based by market, primarely tcg player. However, when we got the list of prices, we were confused on what the prices were based on. They were all higher than the listed prices...

I can't imagine a place that has hard to find singles and even rare times. Oh wait, I can Summit TCG! This place is amazing, I try my best to go here atless twice a month. Had 6 cards graded from my childhood, and they took care of it with the best care. Mitch and turtle are amazing and down to earth. The atmosphere is calming and makes you feel at home. The customer service is over the top best experience you'll ever have. The deals are no match to any other shops, and the place is located in a great area that makes you feel like you are in a small town and feel safe. The knowledge they have about the industry and the cards them self is out of this world. They don't suger coat anything witch is something that not alot of shops do and it's very respectable. If there is something you're looking for that they don't have, they are willing to go that extra mile to help you get what you need or want without breaking a sweat.
