I originally wrote a positive review about the team at Ashley Home Store Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance on 4/30, but I am retracting it and leaving a negative review due to their actions after the sale:
Today's post 5/6/24: I no longer recommend Ashley Home Store and here are my new feelings and why........ I originally wrote this review when I completed the transaction in store, but unfortunately things turned badly for me after receiving delivery. When I bought the furniture the items were not in stock and therefore I wasn't able to try out the couch but decided to proceed any way as I felt that I could exchange the items if needed. However, this is not the case. When I received delivery Ashley Store sent the wrong hardware so my children's bed could not be completely installed and now I have to wait weeks for a technician to come out here again and fix the problem. There was also a rip in the bottom mesh of the couch that needs to be repaired. Furthermore, the sales associate Sha at Ashley Home with whom I originally praised sold me two "Bunkie Boards" with my two 10in twin mattresses for the bunk beds. He highly recommended these boards and convinced me to buy them. However, they are 2in thick boards on their own and now with them installed plus the 10in mattress it's a liability as my seven year old daughter can roll right off the top bunk and get seriously injured. I spoke to Ashley Customer Service and they said all sales are final and would not work me with me return these two bunkie boards and get 8in mattresses, which is what Sha should have recommended in the first place since again the bunk bed was not on display in the show room so I had to trust his knowledge as the "sales expert." Well, this really back fired and now I am stuck with these $100+ each bunkie boards and Ashley is being completely inflexible. I also asked to potentially upgrade to a more expensive leather sectional and the Customer Service team and in-store team refused to help me. This is terrible customer service! They could have been understanding of my particular situation and circumstance especially since Sha made these recommendations and I wrote such an initial positive review. However, the whole Ashley team chooses to lose a client who was going to buy more furniture in the future and recommend to my network. I no longer recommend Ashley furniture and anyone looking to buy from this team beware as are disingenuous and misleading. Plus, you won't have any flexibility after the sale.    Read moreAug132021 - It's really a very BAD experience buying from this store. It was my first time and that will be the last one. SalesladyG didnât tell me that there is an assembly required on the foundation. Store managerPC said that it should have been set up or assembled by the delivery guys, but they didn't.  Packaging is the worst (pictures) I have seen of all any kind of deliveries in my life. I didn't even think of opening it because I didn't like when assembly is needed. When I tried to return it at the store, the store managerPC said that "we don't accept returns in store due to Covid (what???), so it has to be returned to our warehouse." I replied him, "Ok, I have no problem with that, but I'm going to charge you return delivery expenses on my time, gas, & mileage." Only then that he agreed & accepted to take it into the store & issued me a note that refund was processed by email & will take 48 hours (picture business card in the receipt). It didn't happen!!! I was contacted via email on 8/19/2021 & given a case#0404xxxx. I contacted that phone# in the email more than 2X but they couldn't do the refund. So, the last time, I was told to go to the store & that the store should process my refund. I went to the store on 9/16/2021, more than a month then from the day I bought it. Met another Store Manager (forgot to get his name). He said that he can't do anything & wants me to come back on Saturday- d 18th when PC will be back. I told him that - "let's assume that store managerPC resigned or was terminated, so what's going to happen? If you can't do anything now, that means I won't get any refund at all???"    Read moreUpdate. They agreed to pick up the item and refund us. However that was 2.5 weeks ago. We were told the refund would be processed within 7-10 business days. It has been more than 12 business days and no refund. They took the item and also didnât give us our money. Again, like before, we have to chase the store manager down to get the money back and she, being as unprofessional as she is, is now ignoring our calls and not responding. This has been going on since July and at this point we should be getting interest on our refund amount. This entire store is just fraudulent people and fraudulent practices. AVOID if you want to not get a headache for 4 months.
The most unprofessional, pushy, and money hungry salesman you will ever find in this country. They followed us the second we entered the store, and chased us around constantly trying to get us to to buy something. Ameer, one of the salesman definitely needs some etiquette classes. He constantly called me and told me how he could get the furniture to me quickly blah blah. He called 5-8 times a day when he was trying to make a sale, even after I told him I was busy at work.
Fast forward, we purchase two pieces of furniture. The sofa has the wrong arm chaise, wrong color, and is so poor in quality that it looks like it was purchased from dollar store. We call within the 72 hours and they do not pick up our calls, and constantly tell us that the manager will call us back.
The manager is the most ghetto sounding person I have encountered in my life. She does not know how to speak to people, and speaks beyond disrespectful and rude. She flat out told me it is my fault that they sent the wrong item and will not be taking it back or make any effort to replace it.
So be warned. Once they make a sale, and deliver the wrong item due to their own fault, they will take zero action to remedy the situation. Avoid...
