I believe she’s the owner, but her behavior was shockingly unprofessional and immature. She brought up an upcoming event involving learning tarot and mediumship. I listened politely, though I hadn’t asked. When I commented that mediumship isn’t something that can be taught, and that psychic abilities are an innate gift, she immediately became defensive and started calling me judgmental, arrogant, aggressive, and a know-it-all.
Instead of having a respectful discussion or simply disagreeing, she chose to escalate with name-calling. I explained and stood by my belief. She continued to say I’m arrogant and aggressive. Not every customer who walks into your shop is going to be inexperienced in this field. Some of us have decades of knowledge. I’ve been practicing for over 20 years, I come from a family of Shamanic practitioners, and I run a professional business as a Trance Medium. So no ma’am, I’m not a “know it all”, but an experienced practitioner deeply versed in esoteric studies.
She clearly took issue with hearing a different viewpoint and reacted emotionally and unprofessionally. It really caught me off guard and left me a bit speechless lol. But yet I was still respectful and didn’t stoop to her level. That kind of behavior will drive customers away. In this field, you don’t know who you’re talking to or what spiritual protections they carry. I strongly suggest doing some shadow work, healing work, and clearing your auric field—especially if you’re going to be representing a metaphysical business.
The energy from that encounter has left an imprint. I definitely won’t be using the candles I bought from this business, as they now carry a residue I’d rather...
Read moreSo, I have never actually been to the Amityville Apothecary but I have purchased from their website a few times. This is a seriously neat place. They have excellent customer service. I mean excellent! I had ordered an item and it was actually sold out but the site was still showing a few in stock. They actually sent me a message telling me about the mix up and offering that I find another item in the shop to purchase instead. I really wanted the item that I purchase so I just asked for a refund and that was that. A week later, they sent me another message. Their website wasn't wrong. They found the item that I had ordered in their stockroom!! They asked if I still wanted it. It made my day!! For real, it made my day to have that personal experience even though I was just an online customer. So obviously, I bought my item again and now I have it and I am so happy!! Like, so happy!! They also do this "Blind Date with a Book" thing on their site. You pick a genre and they intuitively pick a book for you. They are SPOT on with it! They pick the perfect book EVERY time from my experience. Seriously, Amityville Apothecary is the neatest place that I've never been. LOL!! Super neat things going on there. I would suggest it to anyone that I know who is looking for Tarot Cards, Oracle Cards, Crystals,...

I was searching for an amethyst geode, and while their current stock in store was beautiful, the pieces just weren’t speaking to me. The woman working behind the desk took down my information and contacted me that night when she was at their warehouse. She found an amazing piece and reserved it for me. She sent me an invoice right away and it was ready to be picked up the next day. I was so impressed that she went out of her way to do that. My fiancé absolutely loved his birthday gift! We will definitely be making a...
